You could get a cart adapter, but honestly these systems are crap. Just use an original NES w/ adapter, they should be cheaper anyway.

How you treat them has nothing to do with it. The hardware inside is a cheap and nasty clone of the original hardware and consequently they are not as compatible as a real NES/Famicom (won't run Castlevania 3 and some other games). The sound is usually incorrectly implemented (so games sound wrong) and the video output uses the cheapest possible DACs so the video looks like shit. If you're in the US you should be able to pick up a NES from a garage sale for practically nothing, it'll play all your games and will look and sound correct. Avoid cheap Chinese crap like this.

I'm pretty sure I've explained this to you before.

Listen to Alchy, man. He's absolutely right, and he knows his stuff.

While I love clones for their quirky natures, I can tell you, having played many of them, that there is an overabundance of shitty clones, and very, very few, come close to the real thing.

Otherwise, if you're really desperate to play Fami games and don't care much about Audio and Video quality, just get an already famicom-sized clone and enjoy your un-tuned NOAC audio.

You'd also want to get the AV Famicom, for the composite video output - a normal Famicom only has RF out and I've read of people having problems getting it to tune in on non-Japanese TVs.

Is there any reason you're so set on avoiding a US NES with a 72-60 pin adapter? If you have a Gyromite cartridge there's a reasonable chance that you own one already (the earliest NES carts were actually Famicom carts with an adapter).
