Wanted: Supervision TV-Link. I am looking for the NTSC (America) release, not the PAL (Europe) release.
The TV-Link allows for the b&w Supervision handheld console to be displayed on a television screen. More information can be found on Syd Bolton's page:

Yes, they were released in the United States. They just sold better overseas, so the PAL version is much more common.
I have never ever seen one for sale anywhere, PAL or otherwise.

Be happy, retro, as I've introduced myself in the Off-Topic forum. I'd rather not post my personal info such as name and location (other than say I'm from USA) on such a public forum, so you may continue to increase your post count by tagging my every request if the mood still striketh thee. :smt023 I figure if someone has what I want & would like to sell it to me or trade for something else, they can take the time to contact me and request my personal info privately. If not, I guess they just don't want my money, which of course is also just fine with me.
Actually, I have to admit that the people here tend to drag a simple hardware request WAYYYY to far into the wrong direction, by posting some fairly useless responces such as "I'd like one of those, TOO!", "I don't think you'll find one of those", "My lunchbox in grade school was the same color as that console", and so on, and also by posting incorrect information about a system / peripheral which I then feel the need to waste time correcting with the proper info. I'm much better off relying on my own contacts to find things, rather than posting here & hoping for result. I've already been supplied with a Super A'Can system, for example, and using my own contacts to do it. *shrugs*
The ASSEMbler website is still interesting, I guess I'll just avoid the forums from now on. I'm not young enough anymore [!!!] to take part in the jibber-jabber going on here. Oh, well.

Holy shit. THers a local store that sells quite a few supervision games. Now I wonder what the heck they were. Is like a cartridge based system or more like a handheld with just one game and you collect them all? This store is selling some of the games for cheap. I'll check them out and see what games they do have available.
WanganRunner: Yeah, SuperVision is a neat little system, though much more interesting for its hardware rather than its games. Still, it has a few good games (maybe 5), and they did come close to getting some actual licenses on it, such as the Terminator....
The TV-Link runs ok, except they didn't do their homework well enough with it so it does have a few speed and sound issues. You'd pay a high price to get one, but if you're crazy enough to like the system then it is worth it, I... guess. ;-)
Have you checked eBay, Mr. Sound About...theres a Supervision bundle up there with one...

Yes, I check eBay often for SuperVision items. Rarely does eBay present anything I don't yet have, though.

Not a flame, but *please* stop posting that stuff so often.. We all know we won't purchase things from new users with "OMGZ RAREZ ATARI PROTOTYPEZ!!1111" etc., no refs, no pictures, and a hotmail account. It's unspoken. ;-)

Really... sounds more like jealousy than annoyance. You make it a point to discourage my interest in "10-year-old" game systems, yet you yourself would like to purchase and enjoy one such system. Even after your rather rude post pointed in my general direction and even going so far as to slander me with the youthful "punk" expression, I don't harbor any resentment toward you. You stated your point, which is exactly what forums are for, albeit in a rather strife-laced manner. That's not needed. If you want to attack me personally, do it via private message, rather than putting a chip on your shoulder by doing it for everyone to read.
I do hope you'll be interested in the research I do on my Super A'Can when it arrives, and perhaps the research I do w/other systems. I don't get a big head from having such information and acquisition options; I use the knowledge I gain from these systems to share with others. I don't think natural forum conversation is wrong; that's what forums are for. If you had taken the time to actually READ and UNDERSTAND my post, you'd have realized I commented on posts that aren't worth the time they take to type. When people post ignorant responces with invalid information, especially when they could use a search engine for a minute or two to find the correct information, or so on so forth, it only wastes time. Much like I am wasting time RIGHT NOW having to explain a responce that I thought I'd made clear. Once again, people just don't want to take the extra five seconds to understand someone's viewpoint before they decide to let adrenaline take over and see them through an abrasive and off-the-mark responce.

Do you actually play the supervision? Hmm, I shudder to think what it would look like on a TV! Or are you just a collector? Not that I'm being critical... we all collect and play different systems, and that's cool. I like most systems still, personally :-) And hey, if you wanna play with ten-year-olds, who are we to stop you? Consoles, that is.....
Hopefully you'll stick around to see that most of the regulars here are a friendly bunch. I must say the atmosphere here is a lot better than a lot of forums tend to get, perhaps because it is an area where you realise that you're dealing with real people (I mean a forum is usually a place to chat - we trade too, meet up etc.)
Still, the Supervision is a subject we haven't discussed in a while... nice to have someone knowledgeable on board ;-)

I've got a SuperVision back home too... but what a piece of crap that was... the games were extremely basic copies of popular hits. (No offense if you worked at Sachen or B.I.T.S. or something.)
Except for Chimera; that is a good game on any system. I wish I still had pics of the SV on my old website; I even built a cartridge dumper for it and released a few dumps of the games I had.

B.I.T.S. produced the Gamate handheld, Chris. Watara produced the SuperVision - just for correctness' sake. B.I.T.S. was also a Korean company, while Watara was Taiwanese. :-)
While we're on the subject, though - Gamate was a much cr@ppier handheld than SuperVision. The sound volume is partially responcible for the contrast, for crying out loud! But, some Gamate games have higher quality than SuperVision games, and a better replay value, even if they're still big ripoffs of well-established classics. Also, Gamate games are stored on cards, similar to the Turbografx-16 games. Much handier and cooler than cartridges, if you ask me (though no one did!).
Do I play SuperVision? Yes, extensively. I didn't say it was always the time of my life, and even if I find someone else that owns a SuperVision with a link port (some models don't have one), no games were ever programmed that actually USE the link port. I do enjoy some games on the system: Balloon Fight, Crystball, John Adventure, Kung-Fu Street, Police Bust, Sssnake, Super Pang, Witty Cat. Each of those SuperVision games are worth playing, easily. Chimera is good too, but I haven't finished it on SuperVision just yet so I'm a little bitter.

I didn't know that BITS (it's easier to type it this way) made the Gamate. Anyway, what I meant in my last post was that some of the SV games were programmed by BITS (and also Sachen). But anyway, even the original games on the system were no fun for me. Tiger LCD games from my childhood were more fun.
