Well Adrian, sometimes I can reflect and I can think of a few things I would have done a lot differently, but hindsight is 20/20.

But for the most part, I wouldn't change a thing.
I still think we did everything for the better of the neo scene. You'll never make all the people happy all the time. A few people that wanted to compete against us, or fans that for some reason had a blind fury towards us (without ever meeting us) just went on tirades.




I answered that same question from another member.
Chris, myself, and NeoGeoFreak have never been involved in any foul play or even "theft" against a neogeo fan.

One person claims I stole $150 from him. But he's not telling the entire story.

The story of $150: the guy owed it to me for damages
He came to one of the CGE shows in vegas. I was friendly with him and even took him to my house to pick up some more items and to show him rare items and KoF2000 proofs (printing plates, sticker sheet proofs, etc..) The idiot damaged my car with his carelessness. To repair the damage would have been around $200-$300. I owed him $150 for a returned item (I was going to give it to him when we were together hanging out)(I still have photos of us all). But, he said he felt bad about the damage to my car and that I could keep the $150. And of course, now he's going back on his word. Typical of some of the losers who get involved in accidents (they never want to pay).

One can clearly see, this picture was taken in the evening. This was after a few days of CGE. Does he look upset? He had the time of his life taking photos, talking shop, and hanging with us. Later he wants to say untruths? He's just a little guy looking for his spotlight by using "NGF this or that." As the old saying goes, "Little man, Big mouth."




Not true. You're the neo scene is very small, and it's only the same 3 or 5 people that make the same accusations.

If they don't care for the NGF inserts, that is fine. But they shouldn't condem and alienate people that do like them. It's probably why so many of the bigger collectors world-wide remain anonymous.

Finding unreleased games
We got them on AES and MVS just by people finding us and telling us they had some game with no insert and no information available about it anywhere (magazines/internet). The very first being Fun Fun Brothers. (that one changed hands quite a few times)

What is your earliest memory of encountering neo geo?

Earliest Neo encounter
I think my earliest memory of the neogeo would be from reading about it video game magazine. I may have seen one in the arcades, but I wouldn't have noticed it because none of us would have a clue that a home system may have been in the works.

I do remember mentioning it to some video game employees and manager at the store I used to buy my TurboGrafX/TurboDuo games from, and they all said the Neo would never be released and that is was vaporware. How wrong they were.

Kevin, I'm still in awe on that question.

What made you take such a liking to it?

Arcade experience
I have no idea. I think I was always a fan of unique systems.
When everyone had the 2600/5200 or Intellivision, I had the ColecoVision.
When everyone had the Nintendo(NES) and Sega MasterSystem, I had the TurboGrafX. I guess I always preferred the systems that emphasized more on the arcade experience and offered more arcade/arcade type games.

How much money have you spent on NEO GEO?

$$$$
Personally, not a whole lot. $30,000 over the course of 10 years, getting all games upon release.
Business wise, a whole lot more. With purchases from the very beginning of becoming a reseller, wholesaler/distributor, to exclusive distributor, plus the $90k buy-out, it would have to be close to/or a little over $1,000,000.

As you get older, do you find yourself thinking about selling your collection
or will you always keep it?

To be or not to be
That's can be a bit damaging for me to answer.

That was found years ago.

I agree that the people who dug up the initial court docs from the filing could find the rest. It would certainly make them not come off as one sided on the issue.
However, what was posted may be from a saved link from when it was initialy found years back. If that is the case it may not be as easy for someone to find the rest.

P did put up that retraction/statement that conceded to ngf having the rights. I remeber that vividly, everyone (who was around back then) should.

Do you have any high resolution source art (from cd or whatever media SNK used)

If someone managed to dig up the public records of our case and showed the original tempory injunction, then surely they can dig up and post the case records that the court makes public.

It was all a misunderstanding on playmore's part.
Playmore bought the snk division from Aruze.
Playmore wan't aware that NeoGeoFreak had authorization from SNK-Japan.
All that was cleared during our court hearings and depositions.

It was an interesting moment in NGF, neogeo, and gaming history.
And it's something we can ALL learn from.

Because you have touched on it in past posts, in your opinion, what would you say is the most difficult or rarest official game to collect out there?

You seemed to have taken lots of pictures back then of many things, did you not take a picture of Warlock back then, too? Even when in the process of selling them? If yes, would you be able to share that picture? Did none of the people you sold it to not ask for one as well before buying, just in case?
