    Ordered yesterday :)

One question : for the microSD, what is the minimum class to take? Does it matter?

I doubt it matters, even the slowest SD will be more than enough for the TurboEverdrive... IMHO get a class4 or 6 anyways, they are cheap

I will take small 128 or 256 mb card. It's more than enough for PCE set.

That's a good question. With 32 gb already under $20usd, I'm not sure how small of card is cost effective.

slow card is ok, but very old cards or no name cheap cards is a bad idea, cuz they have low compatibility. i recommend to buy brand cards in some trusted place
I looking for genesis 2 with motherboard VA2

People have revealed their order number when the sd2snes were shipping. My turbo Ed order is 2604 and it has yet to ship. Would be nice to know someone's order number that has shipped to know how far off the rest of us are.

Is there an SDK for using the SD from homebrew like some of the other Everdrives? While it wouldn't be quite as good as the CDROM (no ram carts for storage), it would probably be very helpful for some homebrew.

Well Chilly Willy, there is the internal memory that would be nice to be able to backup and restore to the SD card. Like that Memory Bank card could do.

My order is around 258X and isn't shipped yet. I'm sure with so many great carts he has alot of orders to ship out, not just Turbo EDs.

Order Number 257X is shipped as of July 12th.

Mine shipped as well, I ordered it on July 7th, thanks KRIKzz. Is it still correct that the Turbo Everdrive has not been tested on DUO/Rs and may not work on them especially if they are region modded? At first I wasn't worried about it, figuring KRIKzz would find a fix, but is there any danger to my DUO/R in testing it? It sounds like there just might be a voltage issue so the Everdrive wouldn't work. Any thoughts? I've killed my first two DUO's just sampling CDRs, and I mean just trying to load one, so I've got bad luck with these things.

It shouldn't damage your console. As I understand the potential issue is not having enough amperage going to the HuCard slot which happens sometimes with that NeoFlash 128M cartridge. Also the DUO and other forms of the CD console don't all have issues playing CD-Rs, but some certainly do. My PC-Engine DUO I owned in the past would often end up with the laser sled getting stuck on the far outside edge. I'd just give it a nudge and it would be ok again. However my newer DUO-R system, atleast so far, has no issues playing CD-Rs.

Great! Thanks. The PCE/TG16 doesn't have a lot of ram, but it does have a lot of vram. At least more tiles/sprites could be loaded from the SD card allowing for lots of graphics without bloating the size of the game itself. This would also be good for FMV on the PCE/TG16.

It's even more useful on the SGX where you have more ram for the CPU (32KB instead of 8KB), so you can have more of the game loaded from SD.

With both of these none of the fixes I could find or tried worked, it seemed like the laser just flat died. It's good to know that the Turbo ED isn't likely to mess up the card port. I'll see if it works for me when I get here.

If the laser just "died" and you bought the system new, not refurbished, then it is more of a coincidence that it died while trying to play a CD-R rather than a cause and effect. The solution is simple, have you or someone else install new CD-ROM parts and get it up and running again. Or sell the system to someone who will. A dead CD-ROM in a DUO can usually be fixed. Try the great people at PCEngineFX if you need help. www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php

This was a while ago and I did exactly what you said. First I looked for replacement parts, then I traded it to the guy who sold me the DUO/R region modified. I wasn't too happy with the total expense though, as I had only intended to buy the first DUO and keep it, had to ship it back to Japan to get the replacement, and then had the second fail too. Shortly after this extravaganza I saw the appropriate laser assembly showed up on ebay for like $15. Like I said, I've got bad luck with these things.

I ordered last week but my console is a duo-rx - didn't know these were untested... fingers crossed!
