    Uncommon SNES Kiosk

I was watching this video the other day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD4gywY9eMk , which is from an early 90's TV show from Argentina called "Top Kids" (which also had a magazine, you can find scans of it at my site), and on the show they had this huge SNES Kiosk (you can see it in the video, or in this other video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HykjcKnfYpY ), I never saw a kiosk like this one before, and couldn't find any info about it.

They appear to be made by Nintendo itself, and they gave one away every few months on the show! On the first video the kid that appears on the show had just won the kiosk (they refer to it as an arcade version of the SNES).

Some pics taken from the videos:

I sent a message to the owner of the youtube account of the first video which seemed to be the same kid from the video, but got none response so far. According to the comments he was going to sell it on Mercado Libre but the last comment is from like 2010 or 2009.

Anyone got any other info on it?

Interesting that it contains a US SNES.

As far as I can tell, it's a deluxe model of the Nintendo Super System (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Super_System) - but with 6 slots rather than the standard 3 you see here: http://www.giantbomb.com/nintendo-super-system/92-3204/ and here: http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_de...p?game_id=8894

It *is* an arcade machine, but designed to demo future titles.

They had them or units quite like them in the UK. I clearly remember the display boxes around the screen.

As well as the US. I wouldn't forget those boxes, am almost positive I have seen multiple of these back in the day, which is funny that you bring this up because I might of forgotten completely about them hadn't it been for that picture.

Yeah I've seen those, but never the one I posted.

    It seems interesting enough.

I contacted the guy and he replied saying he still owns it, in fair conditions (the light bulbs/tubes have burnt out), and is willing to sell it.

He also offered to take more pictures and a video if needed of the system working. I'm gonna see if I can get him to take some pictures at least, as I am not interested in buying (he sounded like he wanted a lot of money for it).

Yeap, that's right. It seems they gave away one of these each month, no wonder the show didn't last more than 2 years, they must have been bankrupt importing all these kiosks

The magazine lived a few months more after the show's cancellation, you can check fully scanned issues of Top Kids at my site.

The Crappy Mortal Kombat 2 action figures are great, some of them were so cheap you couldn't take them seriously, Goro looks awful.

Hahahaha indeed, Goro and Kintaro sucked so bad. I remember I took off Goros hair which left a hole in his head and put Kano's knifes lol.

    Scorpion (skull-face) was great.

But yes, most sucked really bad.

I also remember, that during the early Nivel X days, there used to be a VideoGame Hotline, which was awful, you had to wait an eternity to get an answer, and every minute costed $3!
