Since I'm new I thought I'd post my collection so far. It's Sega heavy but I enjoy most systems.

Old photo's of my then incomplete collection

I hadn't really been looking for one tbh.

    Were they a better build?

    Complete NA Saturn set

Sorry for the double posting, it will not be done outside this thread.

I was a launch day Saturn owner (still have my original system). My friend who worked at a mall paged me and told me Kay-Bee Toys was setting up a display in the window. On my lunch break, I went and bought one. That night a bunch of Virtua Fighter/Daytona USA was played. I grabbed games here and there but at the time couldn't afford many acquiring 35 or so games by the time the Saturn died in the US.

It wasn't until 2001 when the second hand stores really started getting people turning Saturn games in around me. I slowly started grabbing titles and by 2004 I had around 100 titles. That's when I thought I wonder how hard it would be to gather a complete set.

Just last month I found the last demo I was searching for, Sega Screams Vol. 2, to wrap things up:dance:

    Some btws,
last longbox found - Virtua Fighter Remix
Most expensive Longbox - Sealed Daytona Netlink
Most expensive demo - Sega Screams Vol. 2
One Press Demo - True Pinball
Lost & Found Vol. 3 is thrown in the mix too (not an official product)

    Rather than a shelf shot

There are so many good games on so many systems it's silly to pledge loyalty to one company. We all have are favorites mine as you can guess is Sega.

One of the sets of photo's was deleted some how:shrug:

A newer toy I traded for that the modder now sells on eBay for too much tbh

Besides my new ability to play Japanese PS2 games and the reason why I looked, there's my small Wii collection. I had to play Madworld.

Sorry no PS3 or 360 yet, as you can see I have more than enough to keep me occupied:-P I will there's enough great games on both systems. I'm just waiting for the next gen to come out and people deciding to dump their old stuff for the new.

Nice to see complete US Saturn for once - doubly nice to see it laid out rather than on a shelf! Must have taken a while to put back, though! I've never seen the mag that Christmas Nights came on over there, so that was nice to see. And all the variants of the WD games! :-)

Do you have all the accessories, too? I'm not seeing an RF cable or a controller...

Incidentally, how many different system box sets were there in the US?

I was much the same... my friend bought a Saturn at launch, got all the magazines, then I bought his collection off him when he got a Dreamcast. I then went into second hand shops (especially those ones that sell CDs, games, stereos, vinyl etc. etc. - close to a pawn shop, really) and asked how much they wanted for all their Sega Saturn games. They were usually so surprised that someone took an interest in any Saturn game that had been on the shelf for ages, let alone the lot, that they gave me a great deal just to clear some shelf space! Likewise, when the video game chains told their stores to bargain bin all the Saturn stuff, I was there!

When I was looking for Saturn games, I would have killed for shots like I posted. Satakore.com is excellent. Now I've decided to collect Saturn Press Demos after madroms pointed out I had none. I picked up True Pinball PD in a eBay auction DonnyK had put up recently.

That is one of the mags Christmas Nights came with (there's at least one more whose name escapes me at the moment).

I'm missing a boxed Model 1 controller,a boxed memory card (my dog back then chewed my original)' the RF cable you mentioned and the Sega Saturn Netlink Consoles boxed afaik. I wanted a complete US Saturn game set and gathering the other bits kind of happened. There's been a boxed Netlink console on eBay for a while at $600 but no one's going to pay that. I'm pretty sure it's the same one that wouldn't sell for $300 either. Big f'n box and as you can imagine space is at a premium.

Other than game inside stickers, there were only 4 system box types (model 1, 2, Netlink retail & Netlink for schools/businesses) that I'm aware of. If you count the sticker variations, I'm not sure. The Netlink for schools/businesses was just a plain box.

EDIT: I saw new official rfs were dirt cheap so one is on the way. I have to double check my accessories to make sure I don't have a boxed model 1 controller somewhere.

I need a UK RF but more often than not, the US ones turn up cheap!

Yeah, I could imagine it being a very useful pic.

Thanks for the info. I'd probably be buying all the sticker variations, personally! Sad, I know!

Silvers are hard to come by, and tend to go for stupid prices now. They're exactly the same as the retail games, too. Nice to have, but not worth the cost.

If you ever decide to go for PAL Saturn too, give me a shout - I can probably help you out there!
