WTT/WTS KTM Duke II Motorcycle
Well I just spent ages typing up a big ass message, clicked manage attachments to add a pic and it wiped the message GRR so here goes again.
Basically the deal is this. I have a private gaming-related registration D13 NOW (Die now) for sale, complete with a 'bike. It is a KTM Duke II 640 2003 model registered in 2004. with about 4000 miles on the clock. It is currently a non-runner, I came off it going 10mph or less in snow/ice last winter haha (I live on a hill with a bend) and dropped it. It has been in storage since.
It is hard to state a value on this as most examples sold are in running order but without private VRM, but in running order they go for about £2500, but given as it needs about £220 in parts to get it road legal and would still need tax and test too I'm looking for at least £2000 in cash or trade, though preferably more! I am open to negotiations as to exact cash value of offers and anything is considered with regards to trades, except for other vehicles.
I'm not a mechanic etc but the cons:
Smashed mirror(s), but I have one brand new which I didnt attach yet. (About £25 each to replace)
Snapped front brake lever. (about £25-50 to replace)
Scuffed plastics, though not too bad from a short distance.
The pillion foot pegs + brackets were stolen off the vehicle :(
The original VRM bracket undertray thing was stolen off the vehicle, but it still passed MOT last time in this state.
The battery is long since dead. (about £60 - 120 to replace)
No storage plan was put in place, it has been stored as-is for 53 weeks, doh! No idea what effect that will have on it.
Previous owner scuffed the rear of the swingarm where the rear wheel bolt is. Wheel adjustment is still possible NP though.
No current MOT.
SORN so no current road tax.
Only one key, but it is Datatool alarmed, but the alarm goes off all the time so I use it in immobiliser mode only.
A bitch to kick start if you had to, especiaslly as the kick is on the wrong side!
The pros:
Private VRM: D13 NOW (Die now) - would look great on a hearse :P
Great fun on the back wheel or going sideways!
Has a beatiful roar under acceleration with enough bass to wake the dead!
Smokes just about everything at the lights, so be careful not to flip it. I almost flipped it twice! Low end torque FTW ;)
The tyres only have about 1000 miles of use on them.
These pics were taken in my kitchen 3 months before I binned it. I don't have any pics of the 'bike in its present state but cosmetically it didn't change much since before the low speed drop. More recent pics can be provided upon request.

Would seriously consider restarting my collection (again) from scratch with a DC 5.24, GD-X, GD-Writer and a random shitty beta GD-R in trade, even if I'd be getting ripped off in doing so! :)

In a straight line or sideways?
Top end isn't too high , it does 100mph with no real issue I guess, but it depends how heavy or tall you are. This thing is built for corners and doing crazy shit though and it does it well!

Does the engine still turnover OK? As in has it seized? Is there any kinks or gouges to the frame or is it just scuffs on the panels?
-
I don't think the engine will have seized - I'm out and about on Weds if I get chance I'll pop to the garage and try giving it a kick and a much more thorough inspection. I've never noticed any gouges to the frame other than the bit on the swingarm from previous owner or the scuffs on the plastic (mostly on the right hand side but not too bad) but the garage it is in is not far from me. You may see in the pics though there is a small amount of rust on the headers but no holes in it IIRC ;) Nothing a good clean or a Y-pipe upgrade couldn't fix. Almost tempted to throw in my Arai Tour-X2 helmet and gimp suit too as will not be driving any more but may keep them for backies.

Pics incoming!
I borrowed my friends camera and took more pics. I hope this answers your concerns as to the visual aspects - the scratches for the most part are really not that bad. The annoying thing is if I had just replaced the mirror and fixed the lever and kept it running it wouldn't need a battery replacing or other stuff by now either.
Sexeh!
The swingarm damage I was talking about. Nothing major everything still works, though I'm annoyed it came like this but oh well. I'm guessing when it was a demo 'bike someone came off it.
The main panel on the side I binned it really isn't that bad. That one mark appears to be mostly dirt too, it would probably go unnoticed after a good wash.
The sump area and frame etc looks like it never took a hit. Snow + Wide bars FTW!
There appears to be a little more rust on the Y-pipe than before but I did not spot any holes.
I've used up my 5 file limit at the minute - more pics incoming though, I'll try anothe rpsot and see if the limit is reset.

More pics!
As per above post 5 image limit was reached so here goes.
The cockpit. Note odd mirror on left, smashed mirror on the right and the tip has snapped off the front brake lever.
There appears to be some scuffing on the underside of the rear quart just above the cans. This has always been there, again probably related to the previous owner's swingarm incident.
I also thought it may be prudent to take pics of the docs for the VRM and registered keeper, they came out blurred, which is good in a way I guess as I will not have to censor them! it will be hard to see but the reg alone cost £500 and it's real value may have even gone up above and beyond that - I cannot afford to tax and test the 'bike though on cripple money which means I do not have what used to be £80 a year to put it on retention. I did have a buyer interested a few months ago for the reg alone but they asked me to wait a moment and they never got back to me. This is more annoying as they went out of their way to find me as the owner, I didn't advertise it for sale.
The battery is stone dead so it won't tick over. I have an acumen trickle charger I'll throw in with the 'bike though but you will still probably need a new battery. I did however give it a kick or two and everything seems to be moving inside, though as I'm not mechanically minded I really couldn't comment on the funcitonal state of everything, so it is to be consdiered sold as seen. I basically ignored doing any maintenence myself (like the retard pc users I have to keep fixing simple problem,s they created, I'm one of them with this!) but basically anything the garage said needed doing at the time I had done without question. I'm struggling to find the log book, I think when the garage put it on sale for me before they went bust they may have lost it :S I'm sure I could sort something out though.
