You aren't seeing things. "Express class" international has steep retail rates. It is $38.00 in person at the US post office to mail a 1oz standard dimensions letter (not even package!) to Australia that way.

There's an online discount available though. As if $34.96 is much consolation... :(

    Try this:

I'm in Argentina, and the max I paid for shipping for a loose CD was USD 17.95 (and because I really wanted the disc and couldn't get it anywhere else... and that was for USPS First Class, not even Priority).

PS: The shipping cost for this same disc from this same seller was EUR 29.95 some months ago... not sure how / why he raised it... it was already way overpriced.
Sellers often do things like this when they are out of stock. Rather than pulling down the listing, then getting charged to relist when back in stock - just jack up the price and no one will buy it (and if they do, you can always buy one and ship as they paid over the odds).

Its pretty common and likely not what hes realistically wanting.

    For example...

I buy my PS1/2/3/ RGB leads from a seller on ebay.

Currently, they are priced at £50

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PS3-RGB-AV...item20b3e50f89

If you check the sold items, they are actually supposed to be around £2 (and he has sold 0 at the £50 price). Once they are back in stock, he drops the price back to normal.

If someone did happen to buy and pay for one at £50 - he could quite easily order one from another seller for £3-4 and ship that directly to the customer. However, he is usually the cheapest on ebay and they are good quality.

I thought about that; however since it's the shipping that was increased (not the item price), and upon seeing the shipping "method" mentions Express, I would assume it's the same situation that Lum explained to HeXiGON.

Changing either the shipping or item price has the same effect.

However, without asking him - I guess there is no way to know.

Not saying I don't believe you, but the seller didn't even bother responding to me. I know those rates are steep.

I doubt, since he didn't know how to use the controller for eject.

Maybe though the tray was broken, it is not uncommon for the tray to break. Although that said you wonder why the buyer did not just try and get a refund.
Like anyone reads the rubbish in the signature.

Why do people on ebay not seem to get it?

I bought this Dreamcast from ebay.co.uk and the only reason for me to buy it was for the Dreamcast Value outer sleeve that is seen on the Dreamcast box at the back. Daft maybe but as I am a DC collector I buy stupid stuff like this, don't we all.

I have all the games already and have no interest in the steering wheel. I paid way over the odds for this just to get that value outer sleeve. Guess what? the outer sleeve is missing!

The Dreamcast arrived today with absolutely terrible packing. see the picture all tossed in a box which was way too big and absolutely zero packing material used! The worst state I have ever received an item from ebay before period. Game boxes have been damaged in transit because of the poor packing. Other problems too but not going to list them all. Very unhappy.

I have messaged the seller to get the outer sleeve posted to me, although I have a feeling someone contacted him about buying the outer sleeve separately which he sold to them outside of ebay then sent me the item regardless.

Really pissed off but will wait until he replies before condemning him to everyone. Hopefully he will have the sleeve but somehow I doubt it.

If anyone on here bought the outer sleeve please let me know as I am not angry with you just the seller.

I will be opening an ebay case if the sleeve does not appear.

    aaghhh!

just tell him you will be returning it for the following reasons:

    A) Arrived damaged, usually the fault lies with the courier but if the seller didnt package correctly (which it really looks like he didnt) then he is at fault
    B) Missing items, whether its a sleeve or a game you have paid for something that didnt get delivered
    C) surely some of the games will now be scratched if the boxes have broken during delivery?

contact him and see what he says

Yeah. Contacted him so just waiting to hear back. He had a Megadrive 2 finish today so will be online at somepoint I'm sure. The packing was abysmal but what really hacks me off is the missing sleeve as I said it was the only thing I wanted!

A few of the games had fallen from their boxes and were loose in the bottom of the packing box. I haven't tried the machine yet although that was 'safer' inside its original box within the giant one he used to post it all so should be okay. Such a strange way of 'packing' it. (the term packing used loosely) |He put everything in seperatly including power lead, pad, scart lead etc when that would have all fit inside the Dreamcast original box. Its like he literally threw it in the box.

I will keep it all IF he can provide the outer sleeve but as I said I believe that is long gone to another buyer.

Hopefully find out tonight one way or the other.
