Thread: What are your "holy grails"?

  1. #1

    What are your "holy grails"?

What would you consider a "holy grail" as far as unreleased stuff goes?
    Could be:
A build (in any state of completion) of a game that was never released and has not yet leaked
A beta build of a game that was released but where no beta has yet been leaked
A newer or older beta build of a game that was released and where a beta has leaked
A newer or older beta build of a game that was unreleased and where a beta has leaked
Assets/maps/code/art for a game (release build, beta builds, unreleased beta builds, whatever)

Post here even if its something you know will never see the light of day :)

    My holy grails:
1.Any playable build of Babylon 5: Into The Fire
2.Any unreleased assets (especially code, tools or technical info) related to the Command & Conquer series of games
3.Anything at all connected to the SNES Zelda 1 remake thing on the Satellaview download service (including any build of the game that is more complete/playable than whatever is out there)
4.Anything at all related to the recent Ghostbusters FPS on PC (especially tech info/code/tools so the game can be modded)
and 5.Anything at all connected to the PC game Sentinel Worlds:Future Magic (or to any related games)

    1. Most of all... Either of the mythical Virtua fighter 3 saturn builds.

    2. While not a game, Any art books or collections of published concept art from the panzer dragoon series, which I've been lead to believe exist in insanely low numbers.

    3. Dreamcast Soul Reaver 2 build in hopes its was better than the shambles of the eventual ps2 release(gameplay/controls wise).

    4. Capcom fighting All-Stars (I'm curious more than anything).

    5. Any of the 1st party games that started their life on the dreamcast and eventually jumped to another platform, Jet Set radio 2, Gun Valkyrie+ many others in their dreamcast forms.

    6. Scud Race dreamcast if it ever existed beyond the tech demo.

    7. Ofcourse the obvious ones of Sonic x-treme and saturn shenmue would be quite wonderful

    8. The rumoured PSO v2 builds where temple and spaceship would have been something other than battle locations.

I'm sure there are some other more pressing and possibly less sega/capcom oriented ones my list would have but in my sleep deprived dreamcast/saturn ebay hunting state this is all I could think about.

Virtua Fighter 3 and Shenmue both for Saturn but that will never happen. What I always wanted and still do though is Giest Force for the Dreamcast. A game that looked stunning but apparently was canceled due to poor gameplay. Strange how loads of other shit made it out though.

    1) Capcom fighting All-Stars (build exist since it went for location testing)
    2) Shemnue Saturn
    3) Waverace pre Jet Ski

    Let me think.
Shen Mue and VF3 on Saturn are good choiches.
Then there are Mother 3 and Jest for N64.
For GBA I would say Dark Night and GP Advance.
    NeoGeo (CD)? Crystalis 2.
On SNES, Dream and whathever Square had done for FFVII.

This is available and for all intents and purposes complete. The only way to get the additional narration tracks is for someone to rip the tracks from the CD release and program some kind of mp3 playing or equivalent interface.

Pics of myself playing it on a real Super Famicom:

Banjo Tooie with any element of SNS still in tact - heck a demo that can simulate what would happen in banjo Kazzoie would be fine!

SMW with Racoon Mario and various other SMB3 elements

Any 64DD games especially ones that would have "connected" with N64 games.

Anything related to HL2\TF2 development (concept art\code\map source).
    Stargate SG1: The Alliance.
Anything Halo related (specifically Halo and Halo 2). The E3 2003 demo would be super cool :P
