Here are a few details for the techs:
CIC handling: You (or I) will solder in either a 6102 or 6105 (or PAL equivalents). The menu will handle every CIC with this one. You don't have to patch images, just use a clean dump. There is a jumper to solder to allow the 6105 bootloader to run.

Any chance you could just have a chip socket for the CIC chip like on the flash carts and use a 2 pin jumper connector in place of a soldered jumper for the for the 6105?

A socket should fit as long as there is no metal shielding like in the real gamecarts.

yeah there's no metal shielding on a flash cart so that's why it fits. but yes a socket plus a cic chip should fit.

The goal is to support clean, original dumps. When you have full FLASHRAM emulation why would you want DS1 support?

I was just interested if it's supported because all my stuff is patched to run on a Doctor V64 and I'm too lazy to dump my games over again ;-)
Seriously, I absolutely agree with you. It's important to support clean dumps. And currently I do not know any good reason to support the DS1.

Anyway it would be very nice if you could add support for Dezaemon 3D. Some cartridges contain self made shooters and it would be great if we could share such data.
