Thread: Announcing the 64drive nearing completion

  1. #521
I think the best option would be something like optical drive emulation like the WODE. I just like to think that someone is either working on or considering working on such a project. It's especially pertinent now given recent evidence that original PS1 discs are starting to rot.

Sorry for the slight thread derail but I view such a project as being just as important as something like the 64drive.

Excellent. When can we expect to see the PS1-drive?
Not for at least a year I think.

I am trying day and night, working on it, trying to get a breakthrough!

As soon as I get something, I will start a topic...

sd card reader for psx that plugs into the port on the back?
that would be cool, i don't think it has the bandwith though
It has the bandwidth, but not the addressing as I recall. Bandwidth is 3MB/S...

Correct. I want to do this method, because this way you can either use a PS or PSone. I will have dedicated chips, for each SCPH-xxx model upon ordering.

    Again, all in time...

I got my Slot Loading Drive working, so expect a new video soon on my Youtube channel to show it off :-P

As long as Marshall does not do a PlayStation SD card system, then I am a happy little vegimite ;-)

His 64Drive PCB is designed extremely well. He has put, so much effort into it, and thought into the future, for what extras can be added, or upgraded.

Anyway, back on topic for him

You're right that you install a 6105 in place of the 6102, not both. The $179 model is only the bare PCB.

On another note, I have a spare copy of mickeys speedway, I'm just wondering if it is worth my time to solder on a 6105(you expressed to me it may cause issues with usb) . So about the 6105, If it is soldered on, will I loose functionality (with any non/6105 games) If I run all my games from SD/CF? Will I have to manually select which cic before I start any/some games? If this does affect other games, do you think there is a way to piggyback cic's with a switch to switch between them(like attach a switch to the jumper)?

    from the website
    Note about preorders:

Thank you everyone for your preorders so far. There was a HUGE amount of demand, more so than I could have predicted.

Because of this, the production is taking longer. Update: Sept 26 - Assembly

Preorders will be shipped in the order that they were paid for. If you placed a preorder in early August, you will be the first to receive yours.

Thank you very much for your patience.

Awesome, I can't wait to get mine, although I doubt mine is being shipped out in this batch unless you pulled a Jedi move and did them all at once.. Haha
I come off as an arrogant jerk sometimes, feel free to bring me back down to level when that happens; however, it's not intentional most of the time.

Just a quick question for those of you that got shipping notices, how soon after receiving the pre-order announcement email did you place your order? The reason that I ask is because I received the announcement at Sat, Aug 6, 2011 at 7:44 PM (PST), and place my order at 11:32PM the same night, but I have not received a shipment notice. I expected to be one of the first to receive mine, but maybe he got a lot more orders before mine...
