How about one of those "pay however much you want" idea? Or alternately, "pay however much you want as long, minimum £X.00."

For any sort of online release, that is. Though I still don't know how that would work, software-wise.

    Well that sounds great

Does it have to be printed? What about doing an E-book or a PDF? I would be interested in an electronic copy.

Can't you offer it on Amazon's kindle store fairly easily? Gives you a large marketplace, lower costs (don't have to print books).

Send it out to publishers and agents too, as many as you can find. You never know.

I will be publishing it as an e-book too but you can't beat a good solid book imo.

    Thanks.

If nobody minds I'll set up a new thread when it's available and people here will be able to get a copy for nothing + P+P, or maybe a small charge if the orders go crazy (I'm not made of money).

Thank you to everyone who's taken an interest so far. It's something I'm really excited about. I work as a builder 60 hours a week at the moment and I spend all of my free time writing it so I'm really excited about seeing it in print.

How widely is it getting realised? If a bookstore such as waterstones will stock it I'll be all over it (Thats all we have here I think. Aside from WHS Smith) And since its a love novel you can bet my friends will be all over it.

Because it's print on demand only it won't be on the shelves in bookstores but I am having it published in the worldwide database with an ISBN so any store will be able to order it in for you. Alternatively it will be on Amazon.com/.co.uk, Barnes and Noble and a few other places but I'm not sure where yet.

The way things are going I'm looking at a late December/New Year release.

I have a question for you all. What are the legal implications of writing about someone else without their permission?

I'm not revealing personal secrets or bad mouthing anyone and most people have Ok'd me when it comes to including them, however some people I cannot get a hold of.

Could they sue me? Even if I use Pseudonyms some people will be able to work out what is being said about who.

I'd change some more details. Things that will not affect the story but will make people harder to recognize who is who.

Another thing is what is called "poetical license". That means that as an author you're sort of "entitled" to some story changing events eventhough they're not entirely true. I'd use that.
And of course write a disclaimer in the first page of the book

Yeah I wrote a disclaimer yesterday. I mean I know I'm not allowed to tell someones elses story but surely I'm allowed to tell my own? Can't be helped if I interacted with people.
