Now I know for a fact that my friend and I read through a video game magazine and saw a review for Crash Bandicoot that was made for Nintendo 64 which I doubt ever made it past proto stage.
Anyone got any more info on this?

Do you have the magazine? Could you please scan the review?
I doubt the validity, SONY had exclusive rights to Crash.

Crash Bandicoot was an exclusive Sony product while it was made by Naughty Dog and published by Universal Interactive.
After 4 succesful games, Universal moved to another developer (actually it seems that every new game after that had a different devs). That's when Crash became a multiplatform game and started to vanish.
The 3 platform games and the kart game, all for the PS1, still remain the best Crash games to this date, and everybody should try it.

Obviously just a case of remembering wrong. It happens to all of us.
I'm Pro-A'can
The article is long gone sadly, I vaguely remember the game looking more like a N64 game than anything. May have just been an April fools prank or something but I do rememebr my friend and I arguing over which platform it would be better on.
Can you remember which magazine it was, and what vaguely what year?
I think you may be thinking of Banjo Kazooie for N64, not Crash

i did about 10 minutes of looking on google sorry to say there was nothing
on it being on the 64.
Could easily have been a typo or some sort of speculation, though I may be wrong.
