Same here, would love to enable debug on a retail console instead of buying a PS3 Test unit
There are a lot of reasons why I wouldn't let noobs have cheap debug boxes, I have seen how people abuse the partnernet because xbox 360 devkits are so easy to get, I rather not see the same thing happen to the ps3's sp-int.
As long as you can run homebrews on your ps3 what else do you need ? We'll try brining some form of debugging to retail boxes at some point in the future, but as far as I concerned I wont help with converting retail consoles to debug (even on a temporary basis) because too many people would abuse it.
someone talked about 3.42 with working PS Groove on DEBUG
so is time for leak 3.42 Debug :-)

I have a debug kit running 2.80. If someone can get me a 3.41 PUP I will dump my dev_flash and make it available to everyone.
I recall Brilliant2meNu mentioning he had one.
That shit requires a bit of patching and you can't just FTP over all the files and have a demo iirc. You actually need to do some shit and work some shit around. I know people that have started it but nothing really permanent.
Nuts and here I was hoping this was about PS1/PS2/PS3 games. Got a copy of Silent Hill that has debug code clearly left in the game but with no way to manually activate it.
not trying to derail the thread, but games like these are not exactly uncommon, the debug data is left there, just the debug menu itself, or the way to access it has been diabled/removed.
a tiny bit of hex editing usually fixes those.
im currently fighting over a similar matter myself with the beta of magna carta, and some examples i've seen having debug data present are akaiito and a certain version of zone of the enders (zoe is an ass to access though, due to the way the game is packed)
im hardly an expert on the matter though, my own research hasn't gotten me very far yet, but i've seen several images that have had their debug data restored.
