Master System... So many good memories.

@ ave: Is Firefighter F.D. 18 any good? Had the chance to get it sometime ago, but passed it. By the way, enjoy GT4 =]

It's certainly unique. I was interested in it when it came out, but I didn't have a PS2 at the time. There's little choice in rescue simulations, and considering the low price I'd say it's worth a try.

I'm definitely looking forward to GT4. Maybe in the summer =) GT3 was a bit too old fashioned for me to be honest (I tried).
Can I play the entire game in 720p? I have an HD-TV and a component cable, do I need anything else?
<- can someone please make this as a repro and sell it so me?

The game supports 480p and 1080i. But it isn't a real 1080i, so there really isn't any reason to play it in that mode.

Good. Will check the used game store i saw it, next time i go there.

As for GT4, you can play it on 1080i, but all menus make it switch back to 480p. So "fake" 1080i only during races.

PS: What was old fashioned to you in GT3? I for instance love the menus and race menus in career mode.

It's funny you should say that because just before reading your post I thought "What a bloody mess" :D Each to their own though. I'm sort of in the middle really. The Japanese PlayStation box (original) was the ultimate in cheap shit. It even makes the white Saturn box (the red one) look stylish. But I think the Virtual Boy is just too much, so much that it looks like a mess.

haha! i just love the colors! and it's so nostalgic to me, all those 90's bright colors. look at nintendo now. white and black. with some various ds colors. flashy packaging only seems to exist on pc video cards these days. xD

Well, it's hard to say that Nintendo's style nowadays isn't bland and boring, but at the same time the Virtual Boy's box ain't no beauty either hahaha.

In retrospect, I really like the JPN launch PS1's box, it looks stylish. But I guess back at the time it was a letdown, like a picture printed on b/w on recycled paper. If you ask me, NEC's packagings are still the best (regardless if early hardware or the Duos). Those, and the original Famicom's.
<- can someone please make this as a repro and sell it so me?

Went into town today and hit up my usual places.

Firstly, 2 games from CEX, The Sims Makin' Magic, I only wanted it to replace my cracked disc 1 but it came with the CD Key and CD 2 too. For 50p

Also from CEX, Bioshock for £5 which I'm unsure if overpayed but it's a great game and worth every penny.

Then in a smaller shop I visit I picked up a game which was missing the disc, I went to ask and they said they didn't have it, and suggested it may be loose in a box of PC games I hadn't seen (didn't notice it until she pointed to it), I rifled through and it had the usual FIFA etc but then in the midst was Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne SEALED for £2 which was a steal for me even though it is the Best Sellers series from Blizzard.

Not too bad. $15.50 for Super Robot Taisen Original Generations, and Mobile Suit Gundam vs Z Gundam.

Just went on a small hunt today and scored myself some goodies.

I also found a box FULL of SMS stuff screaming for a rescue, alas, the sellers absurd prices, coupled with the disgusting condition of the goods, I had to leave it all behind... Im talking about controllers with cut cords, missing D-Pads, missing buttons, cracked shells, 4 of them had araldyte poured all over them and were actually stuck together. Consoles were cracked, slots covers broken, pricing written on in permanent markers... I almost wept...

In better news, the lot below, I got for only $15 :) :)
