I bought The Thing for Xbox recently. I love the Carpenter movie but the game is lacklustre. Almost free so I can't complain. Also HalfLife 2 for the original Xbox, again for a pittance, just to see how it played. Got past Ravenholm and got bored. I'd have to say that, to my thinking, it's an overrated game - it oscillates between Orwellian-plot seriousness and gung-ho action nonsense and zombie silliness... it's all a bit blasé and I don't get a chance to settle into it before it leaps off in a different direction. From what I remember of previous playthroughs the ending amps up the sci-fi stuff and ends pretty abruptly. Hum.
