I know it's not a big deal, but this game was not released for the Pal region. I found it on dev flash cart, i dumped it and here it is:

That's awesome, thanks so much :-)
Any chance of a cart scan for nesworld's proto database? :-)
The European release was set for Q3 1999. I don't really mind that this release never happened though, the game is awful...

40 winks cart?!!!! oh my, someone killed a 40winks to put California Speed on the cart, now that's sad.
I wonder what it was doing on a GT Interactive flash cart though? maybe Midway was looking for another company to publish the European version...

40 winks it's 256M and california speed is only 128M, so maybe they took just the case, because 40 winks is too big for this cart. Another weird thing. The original CIC was 6102 (NTSC) and the game didn't boot, because the game needs 7102 (pal) or 6101 (ntsc) CIC.
Thanks for the release!
I used to love the arcade version of this game. It's weird that they never released the finished PAL N64 version.
Well do you "love" the N64 version? To me it seems rushed....

The downloads have expired - if you don't have a premium account, don't use rapidshare. It allows 10 downloads. Can anyone mirror this file?
Uhh, what? GT was a publisher in the UK (and indeed in the US where they were originated) - Midway often used them (Bio Freaks, MK4, MK Trilogy, Rampage World Tour....). I believe they were a distributor, too. In the old days, GT didn't develop software, they published it.

Downloaded it through torrents, thanks!
Racing games for N64 is always interesting, would be nice to have Rev Limit...
