    PlayStation development IRC channel

Hello, around a week ago I opened a PlayStation development IRC channel on irc.freenode.net. The channel is called #psxdev

Well, about me, I'm developing a PlayStation SDK in my spare time, and it is at an incomplete yet somewhat usable state. There is nothing public at the moment, though, except for a port to the PSX of ZBlast (http://svgalib.org/rus/zblast), which you can download here

I thought that if you are interested about psx development you might like joining the channel for a bit of psxdev talking

P.S: I do not really want to advertise anything. Just want to get the ball rolling a bit more... psxdev moves at a snail's pace currently :P

My nick is nextvolume on the channel. That's my new nick.

Hi, Does the IRC also focus on PS2 programming and development, or is it just PSX?

Nice. I will definitely take a look. Certainly didn't expect new libs.

Nice work. I like this a lot.

Added to the PSIO homepage / forums as an official IRC dev chat area :)

Let's make the psx scene even bigger.
    Also known as nextvolume.
The Hall of Shame - PSX scene grandeur.
Unhauttended - The unexpected homebrew community. Formerly psxdev. Now about psxdev and more!
PSXSDK - PSXSDK, free and open source development kit for the PlayStation
PSXBrew - Homebrew for the Sony PlayStation

It will become more popular hopefully once PSIO has been launched.

    *EDIT*
Here is the link to PSIO:
    http://psio.com.au/

    And the PSDEV site:

We also have a dedicated PSXDEV forum now: http://nextvolume.net84.net/forum

Why not simply just start a topic on PSDEV (http://psdev.psio.com.au/forum/index.php) for your SDK
Should you want a separate thread for your SDK, then ask! You are part of the PSIO DEV Team after all.

Although I understand your point, I don't see any harm on having another PS1 dev forum.
After all, it's better (even if messier) to have several sites with the same/similar information... you know, in case one of them goes down.

In fact, this is what happens with most "topics" out there: there are several (hundred?) forums/sites related to PS1, PS2, PS3, etc.

Yeah but that's why I launched PSDEV. The only place which will be a permanent backup for everything PlayStation 1.

I agree with you Haunted however if you decide that you can't be bothered updating it or maintaining it (life does get in the way of these things) then they can disappear anyway so its always good to have it in more than 1 location
