For now apparently. Let's hope that , that will change.

Though I wouldn't mind playing it on PC anyway *shrugs*

PSO2 may follow PSZero gameplay style? I confess I never played this version because I don't own a DS but the reviews aren't that great either...
I really hope they don't mess up this time and stay true to the PSO series...
I've hated PSPortable dungeons, they're all the same, no fun at all :\

All we gotta do is wait and pray!

I stopped playing with PSO v2 for the Dreamcast. Might not have if I had a compatible dial-up ISP back then (my mother forced the family to use AOL for years which required their client. Nothing but Windows or a Mac for a long, long time. Don't get me started on "AOL DSL").

PSO on the Cube with the additional Episode 2 or whatever that was was fun, but I didn't enjoy single player with such a low resolution split 4 ways. Same went for Halo at the time.

Personally I'm kinda waiting for a true PS RPG in the old style.

Gay or not, it seems he's man enough to know what we don't about the future of this franchise...:crying:

PSZero is basically a copy of Dreamcast's PSO with streamlined controls and some extras. It was much better than PSU for sure.

PSZero was great, It's short falls where due to DS limitations. Mostly the levels where just a collection of small arenas.

PS: Portable 2 is also great since its a union of PSU & PSZero.

That's how all of the modern PS games play. It's just more obvious on the DS because it only loads one section at a time.

I really enjoy play PS: Portable 2 since I got it... and must admit the reason I like it not only because of the portability factor and warm moments of monster encounters ( like some certain monsters from PSO DC ;-) ) but also due to the hell I've been having on network setup with my dreamcast ( for some reason as soon as I enable the dreamcast every computer on the network gets a corrupted arp table :banghead: )

Either way...if they can make PSO2 like PS: Portable 2 but harder ( and less story dependant... ) ... I'm in

Also... can't wait for PS: Portable 2 Infinity

Not really what I meant by that. You could fit maybe 4-8 areas/slices of PSZ in a single area for PS: Portable 2. As well all the surfaces are flat in PSZ.

Some of it seems to be a choice by design but a lot of it seems to be how they decided to deal with the DS's Fixed polygon limit per a frame.

Ya fellow gaijins, check this out! http://phantasystar.sega.jp/psportal/pso2/msg/

What you guys think if we all make a list of what PSO2 should have, and then the forum members who can write JP would help us out by sending it to them?

Yes, my first suggestion is to design the game to not trust the client. Cheaters have always ruined PSO games in the past, and it seems like Sonic Team never learns from their obvious mistakes. The "fixed" version of PSU that North America got for the PC and PS2 saw cheaters bypassing Game Guard and duplicating meseta on the client side, basically ruining the game's economy.

Indeed. I basically will just assume they'll fuck it up and ruin the whole thing from the get go. Playing these games at 35 is also not nearly as appealing as it was at 25.

Alpha tests to start in the Summer. They are basically going to be passing out raffle codes to those that have been playing (and paying) for PSU, PSP2, or PSOBB.

They will mail you a code if you paid for a hunter's license the last year PSOBB was in service (most of 2010)

Not sure if I fall within the last year, but it could be possible.
    Gonna see what happens :-)

I was the same albeit I played for longer hours and for a longer perioid :P I never playd it on GameCube, PSU etc so I missed out on all of that and only really remember the game at its reputed best. I did recently buy Phantasy Star Portable 2 for my PSP and found the action much mor fast paced which is good going but the dungeons were a little bland. The other thing I thought was stupid is now any class can train to be every other class WTF =/ Reroll dammit! I hope this version could recapture the former glory but with Sammy at the helm it may not be possible :(
