I know a few British developers that used the disc swap and even mod chips I was an easy, convenient and cheap way to do things on a retail console.

I know PC programmers that cant build a pc (and that's simple, documented and would assume is within their field of interest). Someone not knowing how to disk swap, when they never needed to use it sounds completely plausible.

Sounds like they didn't have first party access.

Wow, I can't believe we're actually doing this.
What the hell guys, DonnyK doesn't know how the disc swap works, so fucking what?
He's proven that he is indeed a former SEGA employee. Stop looking at the tree and look at the forest.

That was the last WE heard about it.

You know it might have been A LOT wiser if you (or Assembler, or Legit) had first told the rest of the forum it had all been sorted and then started this discussion about Waterworld for the Saturn. Suddenly popping up like this has just stirred emotions and pitched otherwise friendly users against each other.

Chill folks - and, erm... there's a common sense distributor just left of the McDonalds, you might want to try it sometime.
I think he didn't pack it, though. We was told the delivery people did.

It was rendered completely unreadable, but it could of been completely unreadable in the first place. I think it was not shown to work/be readable at any stage.

The disc was scratched more in delivery, but it was scratched anyway, but yet the extra ones rendered it completely unreadable, and how do we know this, because it was working/readable before... Oh, wait, it wasn't.

Juste, one of DonnyK's first screenshots did in fact show data on the disc - he posted the screenshot here, somewhere.

I seriously doubt the 'courier' packed the disc - A professional firm with 1000 discs to send out, maybe. But not a proto from some guy who's about to move house.

Anyway, this is all beside the point if Legit and DonnyK have resolved their differences. It's all trivial nonsense...

All I'm saying is the three parties involved might have liked to take a couple of seconds to let everyone else know what was going on, that's all - it's all very simple.

    WWSEGA.DSK 301,615KB
    WWSEGA.PVD 42KB
    WWSEGA.RTI 8KB
    WWSEGA.SCR 5KB
    WWSEGA.TOC 1KB
This seems like a very good sign, if the PC is able to show those files. It will be interesting to see if it runs under emulation.

That is correct, but I think to show data on the disc and to read it were different.

That is what we were told a 'courier' packed it (not DonnyK).

I think it is relevant, because it all just created negativity towards him, that still happens, and all based on half storys/explanations, and it's not right.

I agree 100% with your last comment, and just wish that had happened.

Sell it, yes. Release it, no, not as long as he's got a hole in his arse.

Considering the time frame since his last log in and now - 2 weeks - I reckon it's safe to assume that this is either another bum disc that hasn't worked in a decade or more or it has already been quietly sold to a collector either here or elsewhere (obviously).

You have to bear in mind that the member primarily comes on here either to hawk his wares or to ask for prices of items for eBay auctions or prospective buyers. I'm not knocking him, he's not the first and he won't be the last, but if you think you're ever going to see a ROM dump off of him you're very much mistaken.

I'm pretty sure that the Saturn game is entirely a 3d shooter.

Eh, chill. I probably didn't type that right, obviously he's going to sell it. I would.
If we're in for a group buy I might be able to chip in some, although I can't say I'm really that interested. This is probably going to be very CRAPtastic, but just for the sake of it finally seeing the light of day, much like X-Men and Virtua Hamster on the 32x.
I don't think you're giving this guy enough credit. He had a thread where he answered a ton of questions regarding his time at SEGA and it was a joy to read and he generally seems like a cool guy to hang around with and drink some beer.

I am always late to the party when it comes to stuff like this. I hope this time this is different. Of course it is too early to even mention this, but since I am already here, are you guys serious about a community release if you get to buy the game? I am seriously interested in Saturn stuff (especially Monika no Shiro, if it surfaces someday) and I would gladly contribute to the release someway, if I can help.
