Waterworld CG Intro from Sega Saturn version?

A friend of mine posted this video some days ago:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4k30dIhoLA

I believe this is maybe some promo stuff from a SEGA promotional tape...

Anybody knows where this might be from? Could it be the FMV intro from the cancelled Waterworld game for the Sega Saturn? Has anybody seen it before?

I never saw it until now, and I'm very curious about this.

It is the FMV intro to the cancelled Saturn Waterworld game. First time I'm seeing it live, but I'm 100% sure. Seen similar if not the same images in a magazine from years ago.

    How do you know it?

In wich magazine do you saw it?

I have some scans of this game but there is only ingame snapshots in them, never from CG videos...

I'll have to dig around for it. I think there were two European mags.

I had no clue this was cancelled. I just found this game in my storage. Final version on Saturn media. Was this never leaked to the internet?

Nope, water World for saturn has never been released on the net or in stores. In fact there's not an awful lot of game media released at all.

Lol, I never tried to sell it since I thought it was just some random garbage third party game.

I have a US Saturn and a third party boot disc but I've only ever booted it to see if it worked and it did... but I never played it. Had no clue it was never released and it was just thrown in a pile of third grade selling stuff.

But, at the time so was my Sega Screams Volume 2 I found out to be super rare too. Really surprised that this has never been leaked.

It's told it have some of the best Saturn 3D graphics, so.... I doubt it's garbage.

What about a community dump? Hey SegaFreak_NL , a release would be great of course.

    woah! Waterworld!!!!!!!!

I'd be very interested what Saturn discs you posses. Could you make a list?

Thanks for the info DonnyK, please if you can take a game on Waterworld and tell us if it's the amazing game magazines were promising back in the old days.

Do you have any plans regarding the content of the CD? Selling it or making a community dump?

I was debating on making a gameplay video since there is nothing out on it, then selling it off. I have no use for this game and didn't even know it was rare until yesterday. It was just in a box of a bunch of other third party games I had.

I had given up hope on Waterworld ever seeing the light of day. I know that the developer, Steve Woita, has a complete copy, but he was hesitant to release it for copyright reasons. This is very exciting. I'm really looking forward to any gameplay videos!
