    Replacing Gamecube dvd drive potentiometer

Does anyone have any thoughts/guides on how one can replace the potentiometer that is on the Gamecube drive controller PCB?

I would like to mount a replacement pot or at least some sort of variable controller on the outside of the console to make pot tweaking easier. The gamecube is pretty fussy on media and pot settings. It's to the point where I give in and just play original media instead of my backups.

    Thanks!

It's going to be problematic with long wires.

    Errr, why ?

Just use high quality RI-TEK (or whatever they're called) media and it's fine! Or get a BBA.

I did have pile of game gubes but not no more i could keep a eye out for a disc drive a whole unit if you want i can see in a flee market saying about that they had a game gube cheap there but i only want the silver one witch i have had for ages with viper gc
i cant find them chips no more.
let me know if you want me to find you parts you want
drive board would cost you £15 from a workng unit
fully tested on a modded console so you would not have to mess with a pot or send the console to me i have lot of bits around in my shed.
    take care.
