IDE44 for me! shipping to Brazil :)
Already downloading the 120gb TOSEC full set to use with my 160gb 2,5" ide HD ;D
Earlier Mnemo told that may be problems with that IDE44 type because of problems with availability ide44 jacks on sale. May be he already found them. I'm waiting for his answer now.
Mnemo told that if shipping cost is acceptable for buyer, he can send an adapter. For payment questions please ask him directly via email (at the bottom of the page) http://3do-renovation.ru/3DO_IDE_adapter.htm or via pm on 3doplanet forum: http://forum.3doplanet.ru/memberlist...ewprofile&u=87
Reply from Mnemo to my e-mail:
Currently ide44 adapters in production, will available in March.
ide40 adapters is ready.
I replied asking if he would take pre-orders and when he replies I'll let you guys know.
BTW: he said HD maximum capacity is 120GB, larger HDs will not work. So, if you want it all you will have to strip 5GB~ from the TOSEC rom set. Since it's 120.62gb torrentziped.
humm that ide44 adapter costs 190 US$ including shipping to europe ...
i am still not sure if i need this adapter or not ;(
Price? Ide hdd is hard to get now, hope he can do ssd.
Assembler, do you have a factory of SSD? LOL
Here in Brazil it's really easy, since technology here sucks.

A-Spec level: 28 / B-Spec level: 13
Current car: Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Final Prototype 2014
Number of cars on garage: 94 ( Check my Garage HERE )
B-Spec driver shared: N.Schumacher - Class 13
## Cars available for trade : 2x Toyota CELICA XX 2800GT '81 ) ##
Assembler knows where PATA SSDs are build. LOL
About the adapter for some reason I don't think this adapter would work. The guy said there's a limit in size, if it was that simple, I think he would have experimented that now.
The adapter costs 5 bucks, it's very cheap.
IDE to SATA adapters, to my understanding, use a bridge chip which are easily included on PCBs. Hypothetically you could have this handle IDE and SATA if the designer knows how to handle it, can source the appropriate parts for a decent price, etc. This would add cost that might make it prohibitively expensive for anyone not willing to be an early adopted. Such is this hobby we share eh?
137.4gb if using 512 byte sectors if you want to be anal retentive. It is all to do with the 28-bit LBA limitation where most everything upgraded to the 48-bit LBA IIRC. Some things use a LBA in between those two and I'd imagine we have found ways around the 48-bit limit.

My feedback thread, since it seems somewhat difficult for people to find.
?? just pick up a used IDE44 drive ... and dont say its impossible to find a used 100% working drive ;)
My first version of upgrade with mnemo adapter. Its was the proto version of adapter - I've got it about a year and a half ago or two years ago - don't remember. Soon I will post some new pictures with the second upgrade. It's cool :)
I have made it in Mega CD Style - providing a good ventilation with a good power source for DVD Drive and HDD.
