I congratulate you, but couldn't you have picked a better system?

This is awesome, but the encrypted filesystem will make it a bit of a bitch to get anything homebrew working, there still aren't any decent tools to write it afaik. Maybe this has been solved, I dunno.

I might get one of these, I'm sure it's just a ATAPI conversion device.

I've been wanting to port a project of mine over to the 3DO as proof of concept for a future RISC OS Show in London. And anything which removes the need of having to coaster CDs to just check if code is working would be nice.

Guess it could be useful if the cd drive goes out. Anyone know if this mod speeds up load times compared to playing off regular cd?

Both 512-bit keys were successfully factored recently. Tools are being written right now for signing images.

exactly! i wonder if it's possible to do the same with the neo geo cd or the saturn...

I guess that a 48X on a neo geo cd might make it actually playable :flamethrower:

It is possible, you just need someone who knows what they are doing.

Beyond the capabilities of most people short of an electronics engineer.

The future looks bright! one day we can connect a harddisc full of 3DO iso (or saturn/neogeo etc for that matter) and just play them directly from hdd.
Can't wait for that day as I am one of those lazy persons that hates to swap cd's and leaves them laying around until the point they get accidently scratched.
Would love to see more development in this area, as 32bit cd era games are my personal favourite.

I just think this will be a great back up in case systems cd drives go out. Can you imagine how many saturn' and super cd-roms with broken drives can be brought back to life through this method?

Yeh it'd be great, my saturn drive just stopped working and I've no idea why, was gonna dump it but decided to keep it. If I could use a normal IDE drive with it; that'd be great!

    Cool.

I hope the tools make it reasonabley easy to build an ISO, that would be the biz.

I'd be more interested in something like this for the PC Engine that could plug on the rear EXP port allowing you to play CD images from SD or HDD. And also have a decent RGB out so you don't have to mod the system.

It's plays ISOs from any IDE devices. You can use 160 Gb SSD and store there comlete ROMset of 3DO games. So if you'd interested in SD-cardreader in your FZ-10 - just plug it using IDE-SD adaptor.

Of course its comletely beautiful, most actual and bringing second breath to panasonic console modification. Need something more - buy soldering iron. Author spend 5 years researching hard and soft components of 3DO before first generation of devices appears. During his tests he took part in development of 5 games on 3DO. So if you'd ineteresting in competition - you should hurry )

    Don't trolling please
