OK, big thanks. I am up for 1 only but I will need some more DC bios when it's ready. BTW I forgot to ask for that Dreamshell bios from my friend.
Hi
I have just installed sega mega cd multibios (arakon)to my model 1 system.
I was also trying to use the switchless version mod to control the bios switching.
mmmonkey pointed out to me that the bios wont work as its in the incorrect order.
I_oliveira pointed out that arakons file switchesJPN/EU/USA/columns on the last 128kb of the eprom ic.
I have tried to create 2 files one for disc tray system and the other for a top loader.
Is there anyone who can reprogram my x2 amd27c4096 eproms preferably in the uk?

Soon as I get my adapter I can handle EPROM work for anyone in the US.

My feedback thread, since it seems somewhat difficult for people to find.
Thank you l_oliveira, I only just got around to fitting this to my MCD1 yesterday and it works great :)
I've downloaded all that I can find, I can't see the US Sega CD model 2 regionfree bios though (me personally, I use the recommended japanese bios, but know a chap in who wants to use the regionfree bios wired up as a multibios on a model 2). Have I missed a download?

The US Sega CD Model 2 BIOS is here hellbelly:-

Having said that, l_oliveira mentioned that there is a bug in this version (Present in original Sega version) but since this BIOS is from March 1993 I wonder if the June 1993 revision fixes this bug?:-

[EDIT] After further reading it appears there are quite a few different revisions of the US Sega CD Model 2 BIOS?
There is also a June 1993 European Mega-CD 2 BIOS (l_oliveria's hacked version is from March 1993) Anyone know what the differences are between the March and June 1993 revisions?

Thanks Bad_Ad84
I tried to create a multi bios file with the files in this order to use with the switchless mods USA --> JPN REGION FREE --> EUR --> JPN but it turned out different.
I byteswapped each file individually and merged them together with a program called A.F.7
What are my options to confirm bios files are in correct order prior to programming? I thought merging the files in order would of been ok,but I was wrong.

lol
This is how I concatenate files here:
C:\> COPY /B FILE1.BIN + FILE2.BIN + FILE3.BIN + FILE4.BIN BIG.BIN
FILE1.BIN
FILE2.BIN
FILE3.BIN
FILE4.BIN
1 file(s) copied.
Easy peasy.
Also, copy them first then byteswap the big file instead of byteswapping each one. less work for the same result.
And if you can, use the byteswap tool from eidolon's inn.

Hi l_oliveira
Is the byteswap_bat.zip on the first page to this discussion different to the one on eidolon's inn website?
I must thank you also for helping me... plus without your brilliant region free jap bios I wouild of had the same problem as before using arakons multibios in wrong order for switchless mod.
I would also like to point out to others having problems after install is to check that awkward metal led lens bracket. I must of nudged mine on re- installing the pcb (catches on front panel) well it moved the insulation causing a short from metal bracket to pcb.
I would get a brief flash of white on tv as if it was trying to boot, but then give a black blank screen also both LED`s would sometimes flash and fade out. Lucky for me once isolated the short by refitting insulation tape and bracket everything was fine.

Hi l_oliveira
I must be getting lazy in my old age, as I too was using the bat file.
It was so easy just to rename file to bios.bin and then click the .bat file to create swap file just to rename it at the end.
Ok so I have managed to add files together using cmd prompt, but I am really really stuck now trying to work out how to use the byteswap application file without the .bat file extension.
I double click the program it just opens and close`s without any files being created.
I Know I am missing something very simple out here......any help to jog my memory would be appreciated.
