    Game Gear Power Adaptor

    Small question, i have a french master system 2 [the one with the scart cable :3] and recently i bought a game gear. So can i use the power adaptor of the sms2 to power the game gear, just asking before i do anything stupid.

    I used a mega drive power supply without problems, if that helps.

    Yes, in fact any 9V, 2.1mm connector, Negative tip, 800ma power supply will work on the MS and GG. The MD requires a 1amp PSU but this can also be used on the MS and GG too (you could also use this on the Famicom, Super Famicom and Atari Jaguar too).

    Thanks mate, well i don't have a mega drive so i cannot test it, i have a generic muti-volt adaptor but the last time i used it the fuse of my NES system blow up -_-

    Don't use those. Bin them right the fuck away and shell out for the real thing. They have poor quality parts and are poorly regulated in EVERY circumstance. Buy the £10 real thing. Save you having to buy a new gamegear which can be £20+!

    If you get a decent brand of PSU like say Uniross and make sure its regulated then you will be fine. I've used generic multi voltage adapters on a ton of things and have never had an issue.

    I wouldn't trust generic power supplies with medical equipment, other than that, why not? Never had issues either.
