Ha, I must be the only person that thinks 4 was the worst one of all... I even found 5 to be better, but still not that great. I think Resident Evil worked alot better the way it was originally made. With static cameras.
Resident Evil 1-3 and REmake are too good.

If you like static cameras you should try the "Lost in Nightmares" add on.

For me, I've played the versus mode DLC more than the main game. The main game gets really old after you have gone through it a few times.

Yeah I heard about it on Kotaku. Is it only in that RE5 Gold Edition or can it be downloaded for the original?

You can use it with the regular edition. (gold edition is just regular with download codes)

Though the static cameras are only in the first part of the short add on.

from what i can tell and see RE5 is just upgraded RE4, judging by your comments not even that....

four is a great game i have to admit, but not nearly as good as RE2 or Remake... It's too different for my taste.
    And 2 isn't just an Upgraded 1 or 3 an upgraded 2?

    Apples to oranges.

They were all samey until Code Veronica came around.

and after CV everyone was crying that they were all the same and didn't change. Then they changed it and the same people cry that it's not the old RE because it's different.

Oh well I feel bad for those people being so negative and unhappy about every little thing.
I still enjoy each and every entry as much as possible.

Two is definitively an "upgraded 1", but I'd dare to say the linearity and lack of dual-scenario makes 3 a downgrade.

Definitively. Code: Veronica introduced countless hours of just walking around. Too much area, too little actual content to fill it with. And too much creepy anime-ish narrative +By the "X" re-release, the series stepped too far into the Matrix/Anime domain (the Alexia/Wesker cutscene change is certainly the icing on the cake). Resident Evil Zero also went down into that annoying rabbit hole (as far as the bad guy goes). I'm actually almost amazed by the fact that they somehow managed to salvage Wesker in Resident Evil 5, even though he's still mostly just a grown up version of the Neo-wannabe they turned him into in X + I find it hilariously awesome how they used the same voice actor as in Umbrella Chronicles ('cause the UC dialog script for him was absolutely hilarious)

Code Veronica was the first RE game I played till completion and really enjoyed it - long story but basically I had just a PS2 and this game to keep me entertained one weekend.

I enjoyed it and ended up buying all the games on the game cube, started 0 didn't really get any where. Played 4 and absolutely loved it! Have not gone back to 0-3 and have a feeling I never will....

I wish they had released a remake of RE2
Well, it's rather brutal here. Right now we are advising all our clients to put everything they've got into canned food and shotguns.

As a long time RE fan ( played and beat every one, but who hasnt lol), i loved RE5. So much fun online with a friend. Me and my best friend doug ( who is also a huge RE fan ) must have beat it probably 30 times and played another 100 - 150 hours in mercenaries. It is every bit as good as RE4 IMO. I for one like the new style of the RE games, not to say i dont miss the old style however.

I wish we could have seen what would have resulted from the "hookman" RE4 beta, that almost looks like a halfway point between the new style and old style, it shares the dark, creepy atmosphere of the classic games, but has the camera and gameplay of the newer games ( or at least thats how it looked).

EDIT: in case anyone was curious, my least favorite RE was Zero. I really didnt like that or 3 too much.

I agree on this point. Zero was the weakest despite the improved graphics. Same with RE3

A few weeks ago i bought my second DS title, RE Deadly Silence. I couldn't put my DS down until i finished it... Now it's collecting dust again
