So whats the whole story behind xbox killing and a 14 year old. The little bits I've read in the other thread sound like an interesting story. I have not heard of anything myself.
I notice people mention it in the other thread but didnt want to derail the thread. So we can talk about it here...
Pretty simple actually. Gamecheat leaked some stuff, and the guy who gave him the stuff warned him that if he leaked it he would kill his devkit.
And yeah he gave him an executable that effectively did. I am not sure how it was delivered but they probably put a fake xex file on the server where all of this was leaked and the kid thought it was something else and ran it and it killed his box.
I don't entirely approve of it... But hey you can't say he didn't see it coming.
Oh cause I thought lllsondowlll mentioned that he had some friends that got their devkits killed too.
A lot of innocent people got caught up in the mix, that's all.

Short story is... Kid had box killed to keep from giving microsoft another reason to kill off the dev scene.
They were casualties to an attack I didn't support. I believe in aiming your weapons at the enemy not just nuking the whole scene. The moral of this story is, don't abuse your devkit and jump up and down screaming putting the rest of us in danger and you will remain fine.

Nobody innocent had their box killed but those of the recovery attack and I do not support that. Everyone is just worried about securing their investment and they are going to extremes to do so. If I may speak out of formalities simply put, You fuck with Microsoft they are going to fuck with us, Nobody wants that.
