Win 7 Support for XEX Converting

I cannot get xextool or 360gamehack (both by xorloser) to work under win 7. I have tried every trick I can remember for compatibility but they all end with no result. Is there anything else available to do the retail to dev conversion of xexs, that will also work under win 7? Has anyone ever released what exactly it is that xextool changes, so perhaps I could do it manually (hex editing) or draft up my own little app?

No problems here either, also 7 Ultimate x64. Are you logged in as admin? Do you have UAC disabled? Otherwise try that maybe. What do you mean 'no result', can't you start them, do they throw errors or what?

Haha, wow... so I am running Win 7 Ult 64 also as Admin. When I try and run 360gamehack, it just doesn't execute, as in nothing happens. There are no windows, no errors, no running process associated, nothing. With xextool from the command prompt it just gives me a generic, 'this program has failed' error.

I have another question about XEX Converting.
Is it possible to convert 2 dvd images to one image with one xex?
The Problem is when you have an two disc game you dont can switch the dvd or the xex after disc 1. :shrug:

I thought that as well but I've downloaded xextool directly from XS and it acts no differently. Anymore ideas or suggestions?

Yeah, run it under the XP mode it's always worked on XP.

Tried that too, even did a manual scan of the files to verify that nothing was being detected in the background. It doesn't bring up anything. However, this did bring me to the solution.

After you mentioned this I realized that I had yet to check on window's DEP, and of course, that was the culprit... gotta love not even being notified that it is preventing the execution of programs...

Problem solved.
