    Update: Panasonic Q / Mark 1 Wondermega

These two consoles are on my must have list, I was wondering what kind of prices they can go for (cheapest really) ;-). Currently im looking on a Q for around £250 including shipping (non-international)..... is this too optismistc? I dont want to get charged import taxes (I have never been taxed on imports so far, but iv heard it happen to UK residents). Although i cant afford to get both straight away (being at univserity), I am trying to have them both by June/July.

Can i get a mark 1 wondermega (JVC or Sega) for £150 boxed? I have seen them go for slightly for, although they include many games etc....

    any thoughts?

a boxed wondermega for 150 pounds dream on count on 2,5-3 times that ammount if you ever find one.

The panasonic Q should be doable for < 200 pounds on a really good day.

I got my super mint (like new) Sega Wondermega for 23'000yen from Trader 2 in Tokyo. So if you have a connection in Tokyo then yes it is possible to get a mint boxed Wondermega for 150 pounds (10'000 is about 50 pounds give or take a few) but then you've got postage. Which I think would be 5000yen (25 pounds) by surface mail.

Sorry. The only one that I knew of was gaijin Punch but he's moved to Hawaii. I live miles away from Tokyo. Take me 1 hour to fly there ! Although if this ASSEMbler trip to Tokyo takes place in May then I'd love to join you guysor even the 17th to 19th June or then again 2nd week of August.

    The two sexiest looking consoles.

As for the Q, is it harder to multiregion? Can the DVD be unlocked by a code, or does the DVD MoBo need a chip? I assume the GC US/Jpn region mod is the same?

between JVC and Sega Wondermega I believe Sega is rarer one?
if you are spending that much for JVC Wondermega you might as well ask someone in Japan - Yakumo? :p - to bid one for you on Yahoo Japan?

from memory there were one or two Sega Wondermega sold for around 15000(?) yen or there about? even with the shipping the total would be cheaper than eBay UK bid...

    YMMV of coz

    cheers

that would actually be a SEGA wondermega as opposed to a JVC (look at the unit, I e-mailed the seller and these are def pics of unit).

Completely unrelated, can people who reside outside japan bid on Yahoo Japan auctions?

Here are the two Wondermega systems.

    VICTOR (JVC)
has some nice Mega CD and Mega Drive logos on the case plus comes with a Victor gray coloured Mega Drive controller and sample disc

    SEGA
no logos and no special pad and no sample disc but it does have a white ring around the cd lid and is more rare than the Victor model.

I think I will start keeping my eye out for a wondermega after christmas, need to pay of debts now :-D

I see X'eye's go for $20-60..... find that kind of ironic (with so smaller appeal to US games -karaoke etc-)

anyhow can someone answer my question from earlier, can someone who isnt a resident of japan/asia bid on yahoo japan auctions?

I believe X'eye you are referring to is JVC's second revision of Wondermega series although it missed out number of features that made Wondermega unique not to mention plain look...

think X'eye is much more common - in US at least - and not as attractive as a collection as Wondermega... I'm glade that I scored Sega Wondermega - plus Panorama Cotton cup... now I need to track down game itself... :p

    cheers

The Sega pad with the Sega Wondermega is just a normal Mega Drive pad. You can find them anywhere for a few 100 yen mostly. I use a 6 button pad with mine mostly but I do own the original pad that came with it.

As for someone outside Japan buying from Yahoo Auctions Japan, you've got no chance since 99.9% of yahoo Japan Auction sellers won't sell to anyone outside of Japan. You will need a contact in Japan to have the stuff sent to.
