    Help identify Arcade cabs

Can anyone help me identify what arcade machine this is?

All I can make out is SEGA in the upper right hand corner of the screen and that it looks like some sort of military design (possibly a flight sim?)

Don't know much about the internals of that particular unit, but it looks to have a rear projection screen. I'm not sure if this would need to be repaired/ replaced with a similar unit or if there is any way to fit it to a newer panel.

Not sure what your technical backgrond is but if it was cheap enough I would take it and at least give a go at the repair route. Worst case you get a lemon and have to sell it off cheap.

Of course I'm not taking into account the size and weight of the thing. It's huge and without the proper means to get it home you may have to shell out for a truck and some help moving it.

    *edit

This guy seems to have done quite a bit of repair to one of these unit recently.
Maybe email him through his contact link and see what he thinks. I don't know him and he may not be helpful but it's worth a shot.

Well seeing as the guy is giving it away free, I'll give it a shot. Just means I'll have to scrape off 2 feet of snow thats accumulated on my trailer over the weekend and go pick it up. (I love having the assets of a moving company sometimes  )

(Anyone wanna try and identify the other machine?)

Man, I'd drop the bones for the Virtual On.

Assuming it's not too crumby up close, looks untampered, etc.

I'd go for the virtual on. That game is timeless.

Desert tank was cutting edge, but it has limited gameplay.

Grab Virtual On and Desert Tank and just leave the skill game for the trash. Or maybe you can get everything cheaper if you offer to haul and dispose of some of his unwanted crap. You do have the assets of a moving company at your disposal after all.

Hell I've got nothing to do. If I were in any way near to you I'd help you haul it all just to make sure it gets a good home. That and it's been a while since I've sat in a Desert Tank set up.

If you take Desert Tank, I hope you have a lot of space to store it. It's a huge cabinet. Virtual On cabs are just like Sega Rally cabinets with sticks. I've never played VO, but it looks very similar to the Naomi Gundam series.
