"is this a joke? I've been trick or treated to death tonight!"

"You don't know what death is."

Is anyone else watching the 2nd season of The Walking Dead and thinking that these people are fucking retarded?

I watched Sanctuary last night, and watched Supernatural this morning. Although, I feel bad for not watching Supernatural live like I did Sanctuary. I make it a point to watch good Syfy shows when they air, because too many I enjoyed have been canceled due to lack of viewers.
I come off as an arrogant jerk sometimes, feel free to bring me back down to level when that happens; however, it's not intentional most of the time.

Now that brings me back. The last time I saw Killer Klowns half the folks on this board were probably not even born yet.

Although not right now, I've been following these series lately:
    Dr. House
    Big Bang Theory
American Horror Story (far better than I expected, I must say)

Also recently I saw the entire: A Bit of Fry and Laurie. Loved it!!!

I may soon check Misfits, though not sure yet.

Misfits is pretty funny, well worth a watch.

Just watched 'Flypaper' - very funny - and '30 Seconds or Less' - average at best- and about to settle down for an hour or so and watch the Archer ''Heart of Archness'' three parter :-)

Last nights survivor series. Good card, Diva's match, Punk/Del Rio and Never before/Never again vs Awesome Truth are fantastic stand out matches. Rock has NO ring rust whatsoever.

I just watched Die Hard 1-4 for the first time in years.

    Die Hard 1
    * timeless classic with great balance of storytelling and action

    Die Hard 2
    * still a very good movie, but it lacks a bit in terms of logic and storytelling if you ask me. Why does a plane without any gas left explode like 1000 barrels of oil? The motives traitors were not really explained. It also seemed a bit weird that they did all this crazy stuff just to free one random military guy. At least less believable than the motives in DH1 and DH3.

    Die Hard 3

    * I enjoyed this one much more when I was younger. The storyline, again, is a bit unbelievable (100 BILLION dollars, wtf), also the thing that all cops were gone just to find a school with a bomb, w00t? And nobody entered the devastated station except for some recontruction/insurance guys? What about all the casulties? Where are the firemen, police, helpers, press, everyone? It just got ridiculous from my point of view.
If you ignore that, however (which is hard considering Die Hard 1 is very convincing in terms of all that), it's a good action movie I think. Not better than DH1 and DH2 though.

    Die Hard 4
    * I was relieved to see that there was not too much visible computer shit in there and the action was down to earth for the most part. I did not like the storyline, however... and they did not even try to build some tension prior to opening fire. It literally started with a huge shootout and explosions, lacking any explanation. While not for the obvious reasons (which would be "modern computer action garbage" like in the crappy Rambo 4), I would still say this is the weakest movie of the series.

A small paragraph about the German language in American productions

This was striking in Die Hard 1 and 3. These people are supposed to be Germans, but what they say is hardly understandable. Couldn't they just get some Germans living in Hollywood to do the dubbing and translations? Can't be that difficult for a million$$$ production team... anything would have been better than this garbage they are talking. In Die Hard 3, the German is somewhere between a very harsh American English accent and a fictional language. Sometimes I don't even understand it at all, it sounds as if they used google translate.

Then I watched the South Park episode "Funnybot" recently. The German were elected the least funniest people in the world (:P) and had quite some airtime on the show. The creators obviously used google translate to create the German phrases (many inappropriate words that were translated literally from English) and did not bother looking up any pronounciation rules. The result is something that I can't describe. I only understood about 50% of what they said, but even for that I had to look up the English subtitles.
They also portrayed the German "president" as the leader of German politics, as he always spoke for all of them. Pathetic research, the "president" is nothing more but a representative in formal situations, he has not much legitimate power. Angela Merkel, the chancellor, is what the "president" is to the American people.

Do some research for Christ's sake, you earn millions for that.

And about German comedy... yeah, it's been pretty crappy and pathetic lately. Like for the last 20 years. :-P But before that, in the 1970's and 1980's, we had comedians that were absolutely on par with some of the best British comedy - the only problem is that it is hardly translatable and you'd have to be a very good German speaker to get the jokes. But Diether Krebs, Loriot, Evelyn Hamann and Iris Berben are not to be forgotten when speaking about German comedy. They were excellent. Today's comedians ought to be kicked in the nuts though.
