    WTB: Doctor V64 DevKit

Started way too big the first time. Figure I'd take a whack at the N64.

A base unit and anything that comes with it will be nice, must be able to ship to the US, New England Area specifically. Not too high of offers, please, I'm a bit low on funds.

Post any information you have. Thanks in advance.

You mean you started off too big with the GC? I don't think N64 will be any easier... Maybe you should try Wii since you don't need any special hardware and loading over WiFi is awesome.

Anyways, V64 aren't very good "devkits" for the price (you'll have to write 90% of your own tools), and practically unusable for development if you don't have a parallel port.

Get a $10 GBA flash cart and start writing some GBA stuff.

    Best idea.

The Doctor V64 is not a devkit, it comes with zero software, it was made solely for pirating games.

I've seen far too many people get excited about N64 coding only to realize they can hardly even code a Windows "hello world" program. Start with PC, you will be able to debug your code with minimum hassle. There is no code debugging on the N64, it's all on your head.

Someone take this thread down. Sorry about this... Damnit, I need someone to steer me in the right direction here!
