I got an "S3 Trio64V+" PCI card for the computer. Cost = free.Originally Posted by Taemos
The card probably sucks, but if it makes the computer run then I'll take it :).
I used to have a S3 Trio back in the day!, great card (4mb on board if i remember).
I pulled it out of a dead Gateway at work. Come to think of it, I forgot to bring it home... :(
free is a great price. One can never argue with that.
Free Dell Dimension 2400. Will post specs soon.
EDIT Won't boot up. A yellow light just flashes. Anyone know what this means?

Sadly a lot of name brand PC’s don’t POST (power on self test) to the standards of custom built machines (eg. Beeps . The best thing to do would be to call Dell technical support, or search around on the dell forums.Originally Posted by The VGM
Nah it doesn't do anything, the yellow led just blinks. If you hold the power button long enough it stops, but that's about it.
You probably turned it off ;).Originally Posted by The VGM

i really raped the shit out of the gamerush $5 sale. got about a dozen psp games for $5 each. that is it lately. thrift shop finds include:
little samson $1
dragon warrior 2 $1
l'emperor $2
probably some others. This is nothing but really these finds are nothing. check the gametz.com "find of the week" thread or the cheapassgamer braggin rights forum to see some real finds. (fools brag about the garage sale finds and getting a boxed toploader for 3 bucks with rob the video robot with all his parts and similar finds)
your best bet at finding junk in the wild: garage sales, thrift shops, clearance/closeouts/goin out of business sales)
there you can really get away with murder.
Are thrift shops like dollar general? I was so surprised when I saw some in our local dollar general, but they were crappy titles such as Britney's dance beat, American Idol, and some trivia game. All for $15, each. What a bargain!
