Storeing video games

Hello,i today i asked my dad the best way to store my n64 cartridges

he said i could use a DVD-rack,the games are arranged smoothly,you can see the top of the lable,you can also store Gamecube,wii,PS2,XBOX and any other system using jewel cases in it

,then,i went to search for ways to store my boxes,turns out,you can use the holders of VHS-tapes to store them,AFAIK,you can store: Megadrive/genesis boxes(duh)
,SNES
N64 games,

the boxes,minus the genesis ones,will be locked in place,even on vertical angels

Buy a CD-case with variable shelves - Problem solved.

There were official N64 cartridge storage drawers produced (check Ebay for this), but they're not super-excellent because you can't read the games' labels without taking them out.

As for storing boxes, try digging up some Alpha Security plastic security boxes - the kind they used to use in stores to prevent theft. Their mechanical S-series had a size that fits VHS tapes and most cartridge-era game boxes. The modern equivalent is the S3 series' AVM406B, which is called a "memory card box" but fits games perfectly. There's also an S3 GBA game box, AVM211GB.

Of course, finding an S3 key may be somewhat difficult as you could clean out stores with them ;-)

I just keep all my games in drawers. I'm not too fussed about being able to see spines in all honesty. But I don't have much room to store stuff anyway.

Alphabetize that shiz and it'll keep your "where the hell did that game go" time down to a minimum.

This is a good topic. When do CD-Rs eventually become unreadable?

Back in the days of laserdiscs, before DVDs, there was something called Laser Rot where the laserdisc would eventually start to age and become unreadable or the picture looked horrible. Also the glue inbetween the discs would start to come off.

With all my import DC games, I would really like to know how to store them so that I don't have to track them down again if they fail.

It is recommended you keep your CDs and Cartridges in a cool, dry, and dark place. Sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity are all bad for them.

Discs like CD-Rs you need to be aware if you buy "value" brands the discs may be made poorly and could fail alot sooner than premium brand discs.

Really it's common sense for storing anything, keep out of sunlight, keep at a reasonable temperature with low humidity.

my cd/n64 thing is already full,so tommorow ill be searching in my basement for one more lol

which are basicly VHS-cases with hold for a cartridge and manuel?(not ment mean or so,just saying.......)

Yeah, but these have a whole 'scene' behind them to make them actually look nice ;) And the whole not flopping around inside a case since its actually meant for games hehe
