    Dreamcast SDK on XP

Anyone here used their DC devkit on XP? I just cant get it to find my Adaptec 2940U.. It used to work (albeit I could only see 1 partition) on Win 2k.

What Scsi cards do others use?

    Cheers

I have the same Adaptec SCSI Controller PCI Card I think. Is it a 50pin? If so then thats what I have. XP was able to detect it when I used it a long time ago.

mmm, I think it either my Scsi card has gone down the swanny, or my motherboard doesnt like it.

anyone else used it on Win XP? also do you see both partitions?

Yeah, I use XP > SDK > Adaptec SCSI > Katana Dev Kit.

...BUT 'yes', you will only see one partion depending on how the HDD in the dev kit has been formatted.

-Original format was FAT16, which NT/Win2K/XP can't read properly.

...HDD needs formatting to NTFS/FAT32 to get both partitions viewable in XP.

Btw is your SCSI card BIOS being picked up outside of Windows?

...If it is, it could be a Windows problem.

...If it isn't then you know that your cards probably duff.

    Hope this helps

I think its the Scsi card. I used it before in my old PC but Ive tried it in my new one and its not being correctly recognised even in the bios. Either my MOBO doesnt like it or its the card..

    ...

My Adaptec 2930CU works fine on XP,just had to update the ASPI layer and get the proper drivers from the adaptec website.

As for the partition stuff...Initially it was in FAT16 and WinXP could see only one partition, then i went to NTFS and all hell broke loose,no HDD was found and the gd-m could not emulate anything properly (cluster size was 32k).I fixed it somehow and it now has NTFS,but still recognizes only one partition.
And i really do not want to mess around with it again...2gb is fine for me....
