My collection and a quick HELLO

Hi, I'm new to the site and this is my first post.
I found this great site while I was searching for some rare footage of the Ultra 64, because I have an old video which shows this early version of the N64. From what I found here I was really amazed and so I thought I join you.
I started playing videogames at the age of 6 and I still love playing old classics and new games when I have the time. My favourite genres are Jump n Runs, like Mario, RPGs like Zelda and fun games for multiplayer, like Mario Kart. The first game ever which fascinated me was Yoshi's Island. That was a reason for my parents to buy a console for me, but the N64 came out that time and we decided to get the new console with Mario Kart 64 instead of a SNES...with a 5 year delay I could finally name Yoshi's Island my own.
I have a NES, SNES, N64, Gameboy Colour, Gameboy Advance, Gamecube, NDS and a Wii.

The list of my games not so long, I'm sure you have more. I have all of them in the original box and with instruction booklet. I couldn't throw those things away ;-)

    NES
    -Tetris
    -Super Mario Bros. 3

    SNES
    -Mario World
    -Yoshi's Island
    -Donkey Kong Country
    -Super Mario Kart
    -Tetris Attack
    -Mario Paint (with Mouse)
    -Terranigma (with book)
    -Bomberman
    -Bomberman 2

    N64
    -Mario 64
    -Mario Kart 64
    -Wave Race
    -Pilotwings
    -Bomberman 64
    -Bomberman Hero
    -Mario Party
    -Snowboard Kids
    -Diddy Kong Racing
    -Smash Bros.
    -F-Zero X
    -Zelda: Ocarina of Time
    -Zelda: Majora's Mask
    -Donkey Kong 64
    -Paper Mario
    -Mickey's Speedway USA
    -Yoshi's Story
    -Pokémon Snap
    -Pokémon Stadium
    -Pokémon Stadium 2

    Gameboy Colour/Advance
    -Pokémon Yellow
    -Pokémon Crystal
    -Pokémon Emerald
    -Tetris DX
    -Kuru Kuru Kururin
    -Klonoa: Empire of Dreams

    Gamecube
    -Mario Kart Double Dash
    -Mario Sunshine
    -Zelda: Wind Waker
    -Smash Bros. Melee
    -Kirby Airride
    -Sonic Adventure 2
    -Paper Mario 2

    NDS
    -Yoshi Touch & Go
    -Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
    -Yoshi's Island DS
    -Animal Crossing: Wild World

    Wii
    -Mario Kart Wii
    -Mario Galaxy
-Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City
    -Wii Music
    -Wii Sports
    -Klonoa

There are still lots of games I would like to have, but didn't buy yet. Also lots which have never seen the light of day in Europe...
I think my next one's going to be Smash Bros. Brawl. And I also try to complete my Mario (and maybe Zelda) collection. There are still so many games to get.

If you still have questions, about my collection, or perhaps something you would like to know about me, feel free to ask me :icon_bigg

I took those shots with my mobile phone now...;-)
    Ok, here are my consoles:

It's a bit messy with all those cables... I also have the classical grey N64 controller, but it's not on the pic, the blue one is mine

my NDS and Gameboy Advance. I also have a Gameboy Colour, but it's at my Dad's...he loves playing with it...

    my Gamecube in purple

    my Wii

a few of our games, there are also games in this shelf, which I didn't include in my list (1080, Formula1...for example), because those are from my BF and don't belong to me...those aren't all I have, but I try to get pics of the others (Wii games, rest of the SNES games...) as well...

I hope you like my collection, it's nothing special.

    Hi! Welcome! ^^/
Nice Nintendo collection... Cute plush too.

I always wondered, what's the purpose of that black thing near the plug on the PAL N64 controllers?

Welcome to the boards, it's nice to see that you keep a good quality collection in great conditions, those game boxes look mint!

I am wondering the same, the controllers of my BF's console have different looking black things near the plug. I have no idea...

I always took care of the boxes and instruction booklets. Sadly the only two N64 games my BF owns with box is F1 Pole Position and 1080°. The other ones are Gameboy games...
I still have the original boxes of all my consoles (except for the NES, I bought it used) in my cellar.

Hi, nice to see so many boxed PAL N64 games. It's hard to find them in such a good condition nowadays.

btw, that black thing near the controller plug is probably a Ferrite bead to suppress high frequency noise. Check out Wikipedia for more information:

Wow, it's really awesome that all of your games are in such great condition!

You should fill out your NES, SNES and NDS collection a bit. Maybe considering getting into Sega systems. :P Seriously though, it's a very sound collection.

Some of the PAL N64 boxes are very beautiful. They should stay in good condition. =))

Thank you for the information on the thing. I thought it was some interference filter, but not for sure. Here in Brazil that thing doesn't exist, at least in consumer products.
In the kids age I was so curious about these things on the playstation controllers, because the ps was never produced here, only imported. And the N64 was produced here without these things.
I've seen it in USB cables too. And more recently in a japanese modem for Saturn that I bought. There's one for the telephone cable, but you can take it out. There's also instructions for clamping it in the right distance of the plug in the cable, but all in japanese... =P
    Sensational! =D

It was a limited edition with book, that's why the box is that big.

Nice collection you have there, Princess Toadstool and also nice to see all your games are in good condition, or at least the boxes from what we could see in the pictures  It must be a right frustrating job being a Nintendo collector thanks to their cardboard boxes  I have a few Japanese Game Cube games that were tricky to find mint because of the card slip case on them becoming tatty over time.

    nice collection.

the black "thing" on the N64 pads is what's also found on many Discman headphones etc, magnetic shielding. It's actually two pieces of natural magnet surrounding the wire.

It's not on all controllers.. I have four N64 pads and two don't have that little lump. Whether they are imported or not, I don't know, they were just from eBay..

..PAL N64 packaging looks so much better than American. I love the black border- it makes the style much more imposing and dare I say it, 'cool'. The PAL Zelda 64 box is just fantastic imo!

ALL PAL N64 controllers had to adhere to the magnetic shield thingy. Those who don't are probably imported.

Even my first generation "made in japan" PAL N64 controller has one (all the subsequent controllers are "made in china", look for your rare JAP controllers lads!)
