[quote="cahaz"]first i would ike to say that i love ninty and sega, but i think nintendo is innovative than sega. i don't say SEGA isn't inovative , not at all but in nintendo invented so much for the video game universe, i mean:
Weren't there analogue controllers on PCs before the N64?- they started the 3d-stick
This wasn't really a new idea. Wasn't quake already out by now? Sure they had some good online ideas back in teh day, but Sega had plans for a modem w/ the Mega Drive, as did NEC (latter of which never got anywhere).- they've started the first video game console internet ''community'' on the 64 dd
I could take dump, and smear it all over a game console. It's innovative b/c nobody's done it before... doesn't mean people will buy it. Innovations are great, but if they're crap.... they're just crap.Virtual Boy
Debatable. Great games nonetheless.- they revolutionized the gaming industry with mario 64 and zelda:OOT
yeah, but of all the things you listed, how many were done in the last 3-5 years? The DS, and that's it. The point of this thread is that Nintendo is getting less innovative.and this isn't the end.
While Nintendo had some great hardware ideas, I still think the Dreamcast puts other machines to shame. It had a modem and VGA support out of the box... USEFUL innovations for a console. All kinds of other gadgets followed, but were only slightly less worthless than the Virtual Boy. No doubt they had great ideas they wanted to try (the MP3 VMU) but never got anywhere.
