We had one at a local Game Works. Control was all wonky cause you had a trackball and a joystick or something weird.

Outfoxies would be nice as well as Edward Randy/Cliff Hanger and Boogie Wings/Great Ragtime Show.

These games were completely different from PlayStation Air Combat/Ace Combat released in 1995 and Ace Combat 2 released in 1997, although the arcade games were the starting point for the PlayStation Ace Combat series.
Never had the chance to play those two on arcades, but i have and love Air Combat (Ace Combat) and Ace Combat 2 for the PS1.

It was announced by Capcom, so it had to be a conversion of their CPS2 game. Shame it didn't make it.

Worst part of this is that they never reconsidered the port on Sega Saturn and/or PlayStation.

    Gotta fear the Cat Spider
You can chalk both of these up to licensing hell. Atlus & Capcom respectively. And yes, it's a shame. In terms of presentation, Guwange is Cave's best me thinks.

I'll give those a look when I have more time.... good stuff.

I wish Cave could strike a deal with SOMEBODY in the US to release their games here.

I wouldn't say it's impossible w/ Death Smiles. I mean, Raiden IV and Otomedius are crap compared to that and they got released. They might have issues w/ the ages of the wome...err...girls... and the fact that one of the endings features them frolicking in a Japanese bath. To add insult to injury, you get an achievement for viewing that ending 10 times.

There is simply no smiley for that.

Huh? Otomedius hasn't been released outside Japan and probably never will be. Raiden IV is going to be released in the US later this year, though.

Sorry, I meant to say Raiden Fighters Aces. It is not crap (the port isn't the greatest) but it basically has zero "appeal" in the western market...except to fans of the genre. It's airplanes, fast bullets, and it's fucking hard. DS is easy (or can be) and has little girls.

Virtual On Force. I'd like to see that on XBLA now that sticks are coming out. I prefer VOOT, but any VO is good.

They really should've made the US version region free to appeal to importers, since the Japanese version was/is sold at full price unlike the US budget release.

I think it's a pretty well established fact that that isnt' going to happen. The small Japanese publishers will always make more money from licensing the game. To ensure people in other regions will buy it, they need region locking (even though only a handful of people import). On the other hand, only a handful of people buy this genre new anymore.

Capcom's fighting Red Earth (which uses CP System III like Street Fighter III and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) never been released on consoles. I know it's not as famous as the other two games but it's still a great fighing.

It seem weird that such a famous arcade shooter like Muchi Muchi Pork never released on consoles (it even relased a soundtrack at the market which you can find easily for buying or downloading).
