I heard alot of people bashing the controls.
Seriously what was everyone's verdict. Should I wait for the motionplus sequel
By the way does anyone know if a motion plus sequel is to be expected (How did the Wii one sell?)

I have it and I can easily say the controls are a hit or miss. You litterally have to have it held a certain way.
So when playing movement is very strict. It's baisicly holding the wii mote and nunchuck a certain way and just tilting not shaking. Based on the game being marked down to $20 3 months after release tells me it sold poorly.
I hope there is a wii motion plus release cause the games a bit of a drag to play on the wii based on how you move the remote.
The thing I found (from a very brief play of Samba on the Wii) was that the game sometimes appears to compensate for slightly iffy controls by occasionally sort of "auto-shaking" when it thinks you are trying to get to the right height (e.g. lower, middle or upper).
It is really hard to explain but it seemed to me that occasionally the game would give you an accurate hit before you had shaken the wii-mote. Sort of like how you notice auto-targetting in some games where it auto-locks to a target when you get near. Really hard to explain but it really threw me off as I'd be about to shake the wii-mote but the game would beat me to it, messing my timing up.
I'm probably imagining it but I played the DC version to death so it threw me off. Seemed to give the player the "benefit of the doubt" as it were and seemed a lot easier to get higher grades.
I thought the control was terrible. I would recommend picking up the Dreamcast version and the maracas controller. It's 100 times more accurate and actually fun. I really doubt we will be seeing another sequel to this game since it dropped to $20 within a couple of months of release and is now $10 at many retailers. Sales were mediocre at best.Originally Posted by Nitrosoxide

Its really disappointing. As previews kept going on about how the controls were perfect and the developers kept gloating about it too.
Samba is such a cherished franchise and they screwed it up
