    Christopher Columbus (SFC)

I saw this in a old EGM today, did it ever get released? There's not much info about it online.

I don't think so..no SFC master list knows this release and the only mention of it I can find is on an "unreleased SNES/SFC games" list.

I've never seen it, but I have a flyer / brochure for it; it's in Misawa Entertainment Game Catalog '92-'93 that says it was supposed to be released Jan 1993. Ill try to get a scan of it.

Nice, an unreleased shooter. Maybe the company went under? Misawa didn't release that many fantastic games to be honest.

Well Misawa were just a publishing company as all the games they did release were generally western, Jimmy Conners Tennis, Addams Family, World Class Rugby (& 2), Super Kick Off.... the only Japanese game they published was a horse racing game Keiba Eight Special, which was developed by C-Lab with the sequel being published the following year by Imagineer.

So it would be nice to find out the developer of the game....

Judging from the style it looks quite like Hot-B's Bat Wings (Can't remember the original Japanese name) so maybe they were involved?

Koutetsu Teikoku / Steel Empire / Empire of Steel.

Battlewings was just an internal name.

Here's the scan, any transcriptions with translations would be much appreciated. If you need it larger I have a 300DPI version that is huge:

That looks absolutely amazing! Christopher Columbus in his flying ship, fighting dragons and wholly mammoths.

Too bad it never came out.

    Interesting info.

Certainly may have some similarities with the game of Hot.B koutetsu Tekoku/Steel Empire, because it was based on the novel by Jules Verne.

    Someone can translate the flyer?

The game dose not look bad too me. i think you have made a mistake and are thinking of another game maybe. i dont think there is a dump of the rom so maybe you had a homemade game.i guess you dont have the game anymore.

Not interested in a larger scan of the flyer, but would absolutely be interested in significantly larger cropped versions of the screenshots. Think you could provide? Those are small.

To see what I mean, here are screenshots I've scanned of unreleased NES games:

I'm probably going to rescan these one day, they're at a 512 width (don't remember exactly why) but I think I'm going to standardize them to 640 pixels wide.
