I think they hate all none Japanese mind you, the Asians do get it worst. Not that long ago I had a fight with my wife at night so instead of staying in the house listening to her shit I went out in my car, pulled up by the coast and watched a DVD. About 20 minutes in to the DVD the police came in their patrol car. The usual scenario started. One ass wipe shining a touch in to my face while the other pig stands behind him giving pointless comments.

I told them I was sitting there relaxing while watching a movie. They weren't having any of it and asked why I was really there to which I replied "I just told you, relaxing while watching a movie". Next came the routine list of questions,

    Q. Drivers license - Showed it
    Q. Where do you live? - Told them it has nothing to do with the situation.
    Q. Is this your car? - It looks like my car was the answer they got. That actually threw them off for a moment
    Q. Foreign ID card - Showed it.
    Q. Where do I work? Told them it has nothing to do with the situation.
    and finally
    Q. How long have I been there? - Told them I didn't know because I never had a watch, which actually passed as a valid answer surprisingly!

Oh, how I hate the police here. They spend more time harassing people in cars then actually doing anything worth while.

Don't all men understand "wife problem"

They probably would have left in sympathy :110:

They travel in pairs so they go through the whole
routine because the other guy is there...

I remember hearing in Arizona (USA) where you can request that the city recalibrate the speed limit on any given road. They send a team out to check the speed of cars going by, then they have to reset the speed limit based on some kind of percentage, something like the average speed that 60% or 70% of the cars are traveling at. I never tested it out, tho. ;)

Give answers like that in the States and you would have likely had your ass in the back of a squad car. The shit here has gotten really bad with the "Who are you to question me?" mentality most police have.
Well, it's rather brutal here. Right now we are advising all our clients to put everything they've got into canned food and shotguns.

Depends on the state, and more importantly, the cop. If you double the speed limit on the highway, you should be arrested for being an idiot - not speeding.

Your worst nightmare is not losing your license, but getting a reckless driving ticket and *NOT* getting it off your record the next time your insurance comes around. A friend was quoted $7k a year for insurance with one. I believe he came off the freeway (60 mph or so) and didn't really slow down on the exit ramp.

No shit -- next time just say, "My wife was being a cunt, just like yours is going to be when you get home." In all seriousness...move to a city. They have far better things to do here.

You can also walk around with a rifle, arizona is a crazy place.
Concealed weapons A-okay in Texas. You can thank the previous dipshit president for that one (when he was governer). I remember just before leaving, shops like Tower Records putting signs up in the door saying "no weapons". That was reason 3,352 for never going back to Texas.

    Man they hate the chinese
I won't argue with that, but they would've done this to a Japanese. I see Japanese people on bikes get pulled over for their serial numbers to be randomly checked regularly. It's only happened to me once, and it was impossible for them to tell if I was a gaijin at that distance.

Here in the U.S. cops don't bother checking on someone parked on coast as long as its not past the hours of parking (here in sd its 4am-6am or 2am-6am depending on place). In fact here most cops don't bother even going after pety theft half the time cause of the paper work!

Most hilarious one is when it's a slow night and 3 cars pull over one guy for a speeding ticket and they all hang out there and leave the guy waiting there sometimes up to an 1hour just so they can hang out!

Compared to my pet peeve that's noting mate~
On many roads we have upto 4~5 different speed signs and unless you drive watch for those signs - not the road or car in front of you of coz! - you will receive the fine in couple of weeks time. Of coz by that time you have no idea what the bl**dy thing is and very unlikely to argue at the court...

On this particular piece of road we have 60KPH coming off from the another main road. But it soon changes to 50KPH and on the weekdays there's school zone sign that limits to 40KPH depending on the time of the day. This followed by 50KPH and towards end it changes again to 60KPH. Now if you turn left to main highway it's 70KPH with 60KPH in the middle to accommodate the pedestrian crossing and the other turn will takes you to 60KPH which becomes to 50KPH in few hundred metres down...

    Talk of confusion~~ -__-;

now the parking nazi will be simple driving around vehicle with multiple cameras built-in to catch. No more need to personally book the car. Also we have numerous fixed speed cameras at the bottom of steep hill area. Unless you cruise all the way with the brake on you will be over the limit at the bottom and wham~ there goes the demerit points as well as hefty fines...

Yet on the countryside we have freeway with no central divider yet allow the cars, trucks and etc. going 110KPH either side on decades old road surface... Very scary place to be IMHO...

The people who invented speed cameras should be drawn and quartered. Flat out extortion are what those are. It's nice to see people finally fighting back though.

Man, what a horrid drive home today. There I was just speeding up to 70kmph to take over a slow arse in front of me when out of no-where came a patrol car. Oh shit! I thought (50kmph limit you see) and slowed down right away. Luckily the patrol car had no radar on the top so I was safe. The bummer is though that I had the sod in the lane next to me for a whole 26km ! Carefully trying my best not to break 50kmph speed limit level with the pigs. Man, it took forever to get home.

I slowed down to 40kmph to get a pic' for those who drive in Japan. These cars Do not have speed radar equipment in them unless it's a hand held device and they can't detect the speed if the police car is on the move  The newer Toyota Crown with the white block under the lights on the roof are the cars to watch out for. That white block is the radar. Sometimes it was lucky to have a police woman living above my old apartment

If only the cops here in the states used that instead of hiding behind a bush, road, gas station or have their lights off at night parked on the side of the highway lol.

sayin999/ join the club. Our coppers do the exact same thing over here...
    they are too busy waiting at the blind spot to catch us out to catch the real crooks... -____-;
no wonder we have more people leaving the police services than graduating each year... [some retard(i.e. police commissioner) from UK changed our Police Forces to Police Services and thing went downhill from that day on~]

Luckily in Japan that's against the law. they must have their lights flashing at night or be visible during the day. The idea is to be a deterrent. It's the same with the very few speed cameras we have here. Before the camera there's a sign telling you one is coming up. So even if you're doing a mad 160kmph on a 80kmph motorway, you'll still have plenty of time to slow down.

Yakumo/ but then copper cannot fill the piggy bank for the government. That's why even though our law is similar to Japan no copper would bother to comply with it...

Ah, this is where the Japanese police are sneaky though. They will park in an area they know you'll have trouble slowing down in such as on the other side of a hill. It's not uncommon for people heading in the opposite direction to flash their headlights to warn oncoming drivers of the police ahead.

The speed cameras on the other hand are a mystery. I guess some people are just too stupid to slow down even though they've been warned.
