I have a short phrase which I can't figure out due to all the passive stuff in it :(
1983年に公開された作品は、日本では『スター・ウォーズ ジェダイの復讐』と題され、《特別篇》公開時にもそれが踏襲されていたが、後に変更された。
What I want to find out is when they renamed Star Wars from "Revenge of the Jedi" (ジェダイの復讐) to "Return of the Jedi" (ジェダイの帰還). The way I understand it is that they only changed the name in Japan when the Special Edition (特別篇) came out in 1997. But since it has already been changed from Revenge to Return everywhere else in the world prior to the films original launch in 1983, I dunno if I'm getting this right.

What it says is that "revenge..." was the Japanese title when it came out in 1983 and that this title was also used when the special edition came out but was later changed, i.e. after the release of the special edition.

Cool, thanks. I looked up some Laserdisc releases and other stuff and they all have "ジェダイの復讐" on the cover (revenge) despite the English title on the same cover spells "Return" in English.
Seems like the rules of a Jedi, do not seek revenge, don't apply to the Japanese :P
Haha, indeed. Might be due to different nuances in the Japanese words for "return" though, as well. They will traditionally go with what they feel sounds better to them.
Just for giggles, had some fun running this pokédex entry through Google translate:

I know they were planning on distributing Clock Tower Anthology - Chase Game and their fourth fan-book at Comic Market 82/Comiket and eventually at Super Comic City in Kansai but I wasn't sure if I would be able to get a couple of copies of it and the fourth book because the Anthology will be limited in stock and I've waded through pages upon pages of crap on Toranoana and haven't found the two comics on there. >_<;
Just not sure if they would come up on Toranoana once Comiket starts OR if I need to send an e-mail to her about it.
It doesn't say anything about doujinshi, nor does it say anything about sales. It just says to contact that person if you're participating. I'd need more context to figure out what's going on.

Apart from that it doesn't make you look all too appreciative for the crazy effort you're asking for (and that on a pretty much weekly basis), don't you think that you couldn't at least get better pictures? Translating a long text from a foreign language into English on its own isn't easy, but if most characters look like funny blobs it just becomes ridiculous.
And also, I think I already pointed this out to you at least TWO YEARS ago, but because it still bothers me:
- Can someone translate the text on the picture?
- Could someone translate the text on the picture?
NOT "Is someone can" or "does someone can". It just itches when I read it.... and if you used "please" from time to time that'd be cool, too. I'm no native speaker either but this grammar is beyond my tolerance.
