When the doctor asked me, if I heard voices in my head, the voices said "tell him no!"
i did try that, but seems like the ribbon cable is short and its too difficult to keep the mod chip in place.if i remember correctly that was a problem, and somewhere they were selling longer ribbon cables..Originally Posted by alphagamer
http://www.consolegoods.co.uk/ sells ribbon cables, measure if they are longer than yours (they sell 7.2cm long ones)

It says:NOT long enough for other purposes(it's just the one that connects the mod chip to the motherboard-not to the cd drive)
maybe if i find a ribbon connector(female-male) and extend to of these..

i do have a modded model 2,but i want to mod my model 1 too!if anyone can help let me know
Help in what way? Even if you find an original chip, you won't want to pay the price they go for!!

if they are so expensive why did they stop their production?there are too many model one saturns out there, and most of them are in ebay.maybe that's why they only sell model one because they cannot mod them
Definitely easier to find the chips for model 2.
Is that not obvious? The 20 pin drive was used for a short time. They then switched to the 21 pin configuration and used it for ALL Saturns. It made much more sense to make mod chips for the current Saturns, as the vast majority of Saturns were (and still are) 21 pin.Originally Posted by ninjux
Of course they can mod them! Why do you think Sega changed the configuration in the first place? Just like Sony, they don't want people modding their consoles and pirating their games, so make it hard for them to do so.

Interesting~
Haven't seen the model one with the Sanyo board inside but then I haven't had much dealing with Saturn models other than JPN versions...

Is the metal shielding short true? Cause I had a model 2 saturn I modded and I dropped it slightly on the table never worked again.
I can get them but I have to buy 100, and I don't know if I can sell that many, even at $12 a pop
