    Wondermega

I'm interested in purchasing a Wondermega and was wondering a) what I should be looking for in terms of controllers etc and b) what I should be looking to pay for a good condition one without box :smt009 Id love to go for a MIB one but funds can't streach that far :smt022

Oh also, whats the difference between a Mk1 and Mk2 (pics would be nice) version and is the SEGA version harder to get hold of than the JVC (Victor) one? Sorry if this has been asked before :-)

    thanx :smt023

I could be wrong (I'm certainly no expert in this area), but I believe that you WILL pay out of the ass for a WonderMega. How much I don't know, but I'd expect it to go well over $100.

The average price i've seen them for on eBay is around 600.00....I've seen them go as high as you're speaking and as low as 300 unboxed/scratched....
I agree to all auction guidelines.

Sounds like people in Hawaii. Trying to sell a $300,000 house for $1,000,000.

    Better solution.

Even with surrogate bidder fees, it's a fraction of $900.

Also worth noting, I had a mint, unboxed one listed for sale for $130, and took me about 2-3 months to sell.

I've got a mint boxed SEGA branded Wondermega that I bought 2 years ago from Trader in Tokyo. It cost me 22'000 yen. This is a great price because the System IS New !! Looks as if nobody had evenbothered to open the box before I got my hands on it.

Anyway, yes the Sega version is far more rare than the Victor (JVC) model and looks slightly different due to the colours used but the shape and features are identical. The 2nd version of Wondermega was only released by JVC and also released in the US under the name of X-Eye. The 2nd version of Wondermega is complete shite. There is no motorised CD lid, no midi support inputs, no S-Video, no Modem connector. It even looks crap. What ever you do, don't buy the 2nd version. As for controllers you can use the standard Mega Drive 3 or 6 button pads. Even the Master System/Mark III pads work on it.

Here's are some pictures of my Wondermega

many thanks for all this info :smt023 I guess I will just have to keep looking as I really want the SEGA version over the JVC one. If one pops up could someone PM me please :smt045 PS thanks for the images Yakumo ;-) Oh.......just one more question. What voltage does it use is it the same as the MegaDrive as I will need to get a step down convertor for the UK :-(

The wondermega is a sexy beast of a machine. Even the CD Lid is fully automatic !! The only console sexier than a Wondermega is the Panasonic Game Cube. Then again maybe even that isn't as sexy as the Wondermega :-D

zilpha, the Wondermega uses the same power as a Mega Drive so you will need a stepdown. Even though it7s a Mega Drive & Mega CD in one it only needs one PSU. Probably the output is more than a standard Mega Drive though but the imput is still 110 Volts.

"(...)A One World Government and one-unit monetary system, under permanent non-elected hereditary oligarchists who self-select from among their numbers in the form of a feudal system as it was in the Middle Ages. In this One World entity, population will be limited by restrictions on the number of children per family, diseases, wars, famines, until 1 billion people who are useful to the ruling class, in areas which will be strictly and clearly defined, remain as the total world population." Dont let media feed you with lies. open your eyes and search information yourself.

They would have added brushed silver on the bottom part (and replaced the white button with a gray one) to make it more stilish
:-D I want it i want it but for 40$ :smt082 (i'm not a psycho collector but a segacd fan so 900$ is completly crazy for me).

^Even the CD Lid is fully automatic !!^
    Actionned by software?
If yes, which bios version has this machine (2.4, 3.0 or still the megacd1 bios)?

You can only open the Wondermega's CD Lid from the onscreen menu. True that the Mega CD model 1 was the same but how many Top loading automatic lids have you ever seen? Everyone's seen a drawer open and close on it's own but not a top loader. Truley wonderful :smt045

The Wondermega has the same CD player as a Mega CD 1 but the main BIOS Screen looks different since they use the Wondermega Logo with a different background. Still does the same movements with the same music as the Japanese Mega CD 1 & 2 and European Mega CD 1 & 2. So I'm guessing that Wondermega Bios is an altered version of the original Mega CD Bios

Is that unit boxed? If not then the price is way too high I'd say. Also it doesn't say that the special Victor (JVC) demo CD is included ir not. All JVC Wondermegas came with it unlike the Sega branded one :-(

www.videogameimports.com have a Wondermega in stock. Looks in damn good condition. But its £350. Damn.

Why does no one ever speak of the Multimega? And why can i never find one for sale? Not as cool as a WM, but a MM is cool.
