Final Tomb Raider Fantasy IV-2 is comming
You can ask for any old woman
You can ask for an army of ants
You can ask for a pillar of poison
You can ask for sheep and shavers

    And you can die for
Be careful what you wish for

I could kind of see Square-Enix buying them up since I know back when it was just Square didn't Eidos do the PC ports for some of the Final Fantasy games?

Doesn't surprise me too much though Tomb Raider just doesn't seem quite the same anymore. I think the last one I played much of was 3 and that was primarily just to shoot the old man in the mansion. =P

Barc0de, I'm eagerly waiting for it to come out.

Surely Sayonora Deus Ex X II?

Although the pound being worth about 6 noodle strands, then I am sure SE were delighted at buying Eidos for 40% off the price it would have been earlier this year.

Try imagining Lara Croft redesigned by Nomura.

Well, at least theres a chance that Chuck Rock will have cameos as a Final Fantasy random enemy.

Whats their name going to be now? Square-Enix-Eidos? How about this Square-Eidonix? lol

By the way, Druid II, Nomura is a hack IMO and all of his creations are stupid.

Nomura would think this is a good design:

    Yes, I made that picture.

I'm not surprised this is happening. Didn't they use to do business with them when they published final fantasy 7 and 8 on pc?

Tomb raider will then be "casual raider".

Square enix only do "kid friendly" games these days...

I can't believe the same brand did Final Fantasy VII. No way !

(their best game last year was the FFCC on DS ! 6 hours, a story that can be told in 5 minutes...)

oh come on, Psygnosis/SCEE Liverpool, Bizzare, Rare etc. Just because they re owned by someone else doesn't make them less British if you really want to be patriotic:p

Uhh, I said we don't have MANY left that are actually BRITISH now.

In the film industry, a film can be made in the UK with British actors but be financed by an American studio. That makes it American.

Rover/Jaguar/TVR/Lotus were among the last of the British car makers that were ACTUALLY British. There was a big hoo-hah about how we lost our last British car maker when whoever the last one was sold out to a foreigner. Same thing here. I never said we don't have ANY, though.

    Your list, though:

Psygnosis - don't exist, now SCE Studio Liverpool. Sony is Japanese.

Bizarre - bought by Activision over a year ago. Activision are American.

Rare - bought by Microsoft 7 years ago. Microsoft are American.

Nice examples! I would have gone for:

    Team17
    Jagex
    Llamasoft

A lot of our old indie developers got swallowed up by the likes of Electronic Arts, Infogrames/Atari, Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony. It's sad, somewhat like the demise of the corner shop, heh.

That is a masterpiece! How about this - the true story behind Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS?

there there, you apparently didn't understand the spirit of my post. I deliberately used the aforementioned studios because it's not who pays the bills, it's who injects their culture and personality, views and ideas in the game, its creators - something most forget with all the company law and ip law;p
