take a litter box fill it with new high quality liter , take some cellophane rap and and pull tight over the top of the litter box. then take a pencil and poke some holes in the cellophane rap and place manuals and boxes on it, wait a day or so and it will smell bland.

Do you have pictures of this setup? I can't visualise it.

I've found as of late, Shoving the item inside a sealed plastic container full of polystrene small balls works quite well.

I've heard some success stories about people using fabric softener sheets and laying them on/around the item. I doubt they'd do any damage to the devices, either--but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, because I'd definitely like to know before I try this.

How about smokey controllers? I just got one today that stinks (ebay). Was thinking of taking it apart and bathing the front and back shells in soapy water. Will that do the trick or will I need any other cleaning products?

Well I took it apart and soaked/scrubbed it in some soapy water for about an hour. Let it dry overnight and no more smoke smell and all the grime and gunk is a thing of a past.

Just leave them outside for a few days like under your porch/patio. Works for me every time.

Here is how I go abot it: 1.) Make a dog with hair wet. 2.) Take of a good chunk of hair with scissor. 3.) Put smelly item in box with hair. 4.) Put box in sun and wait week. 5.) Enjoy ;)
