Of course, they could probably care less if you can smell them or not. The employees at Taco Bell always seemed delighted when they noticed my bloodshot eyes.

Edit: Whoops, you meant weed smell that sticks to stuff. Honestly, it won't unless all they smoke are blunts. If they use glass the smell will go away within a day, probably less. Just let it air out.
    lol!

i told my room mate if Taco Bell delivered, they would have a monopoly on my food and drink intake.

Af far as getting rid of the smell theres not much you can do other than air it out, or, put the "tainted" games in a small box, and put that box inside of another box packed with dryer sheets. Worked wonders for one of my SNES's that i picked up from my moms ( she has a lot of cats and dogs, so you can imagine how my snes smelled), but it doesnt really get rid of the smell, just replaces it with that dryer sheet smell .

You could take a crap on it. The smoke smell probably wouldn't be so noticeable then

Yeah, that would definately, ummmm, "relieve" the item from the smoke smell. ( sorry, really bad attempt at a joke there)

For books, try airing them, or putting sheets of newspaper in between the pages.

Cases etc can be sealed in a bag with some baking powder and left for a few weeks which sometimes works.

Washing with vinegar sometimes works, although sometimes you then can't get rid of the smell of vinegar :banghead:.

I know that feeling. We get some interesting people come in with games/systems in mint condition. Then we have other interesting people who bring in a SNES with mold growing on it.

I must say my favorite is the person who brought in this crappy DS game the day before we were suppose to get it in new...

As far as smoke goes, really all I do is just try and clean up the system as best as possible. Of course though both my parents were smokers so I don't notice the smell as much.

    Deodorant????!?!?! :noooo:

That will stain the plastic and possibly discolour it. If you're talking about inside the machine, never spray deodorant on a circuit board! WTF?!?!

Of course deodorant stains! Spray deodorant on a piece of plastic (or indeed air freshener on the lid of your toilet seat) and tell me you don't get spackles all over it. Hell, if your toilet seat is stained wood, it'll bleach the wood!

As for deodorant, if it is an anti-perspirant, it leaves that white, chalky compound.

Not trying to derail the topic, but what about that 'old' smell. I hate it! Like the smell you get after paper/boxes that have been stored for the last 100 years... it smells old.

Should I just leave them out to air or.... what?

ozone works great. It absorbs smells... however very few people have an ozone machine. Also it has side effects like giving people headaches. But thats what is generally used to remove home odors from what i understand.

What a difference 2 years makes.

For a while if I had plastic that reeked of fags I washed them in a spare dishwasher I have it doesn't do much for yellowing but the smell definately goes.

Deodorant just wears off anyway, so it's not really worth the damage it may cause.

And oh boy, I didn't even notice the post above mine was 2 years old :banghead:
