Yes, the blue casing is 3rd party remember seeing a lot of them on the internet a few years back. The stickers don't mean much you can easy glue them back on :)

It's an official replacement cover for Dreamcast. However it looks like someone got creative with the power and eject-buttons and replaced them with black ones instead of the grey ones. Probally the person 'making' this used a 'sports edition' Dreamcast for this.

I'm pretty sure it's Sports Edition, because the entire bottom part, controller ports and buttons are black, and it's an NTSC-U, so can only be a Sports Edition, unless it's painted of course. But that wouldn't make sense since Sports Editions sell so cheap:-)

I'm pretty sure the HK cases didn't have the markings - but the official Sega ones did. It may be an official Sega replacement shell... I can't remember the colours off hand though.

(it may also be that someone removed the original sticker and put it on a HK case as well...) Eitherway, it still looks great :)

EDIT:: Sorry! I didn't see the posts above (I was on page 3 I think!) and I thought I was at the end of the thread...

I used to have an official Black replacement case. It was the top half only and everything was black including the buttons.

I sprayed the bottom half to match and it looked awesome. There used to be a thread about it on this forum but that was long before the purge, maybe some of the older members will remember.

What color is the bottom half? Sega sold replacement cases for the DC, sometimes only as a top half though.

Edit: Sorry for the redundancy. It only loaded the first 3 or so comments for me the first time.

the 3rd party ones pop up from time to time on ebay but the sega ones are really really really rare :(

might sell this one soon to put towards a rather nice dreamcast that iv been after foe years now :)

Were there ever official (or unnofficial) solid color cases as opposed to the transparent ones? I'd love a solid black or a solid silver top half for my sports DC...
