Need help identifying which xbox 360 powerpack I need.

So, I bought a cheap xbox360 for modding with no cables or anything, stupidly thinking everything would work from my elite pack. Wrong.

The power pack connector is totally different.

So I'm wondering if any of you guys could help me out at all. I include pics of the back of the xbox which show the serial and MFR date etc.

Could anyone please tell me which power pack I need to get?

    Help appreciated.

    Ben.

    MFR Date: 20-07-2006.

That looks the same as the socket on my elite.

Didn't know there are different sockets.

Could you post a pic of the socket on your elite?

My PSU Model no. is DPSN-186EB-1A rev 01,
    MS Part no. X808156-004
    I'll mod your face!

Theres the old PSUs and the 175w ones with Falcons. There might have been another one around launch, not sure, but I imagine your Elite is a Falcon. I doubt that one is because of the date, so it looks like you need an older one.

Here is the power connector on my elite system.

The details of that power pack are:

    Model: DPSN-168CB-1A

    MS Part Number: X811688-004

EDIT: So yeah my elite uses the falcon and my older arcade requires the very oldest power pack. joy to the world.

Well cheers for your help guys.

Why does Opus use a 175w when it gets sent back to people who send in Xenons??

You can use the Xenon PSU on the Opus,it will output the correct voltage.

indeed. I got what is apparently a XENON unit back from the dead yet they sent me a two-prong powersupply, unlike its original three-prong one.

Now I m pretty upset that I got a XENON back because this is a guarantee that it will inevitably break down on me ><
